no, it has not gotten that bad for us. it has been tighter for us w/ the economy as it its. but all weve really had to do is cutt the extra stuff we really dont need (ex going out to eat, going on overnight trips, etc) |

No. I have a vegie garden.
I also have a job, which allows me to earn money. Money can be exchanged for goods and services, which means I don't need to live off free samples of food and snacks from online websites.
Online websites. Isn't that an oxymoron? Is there such thing as an offline website?
Best wishes |

Not there's a fine line between SAVING and being plain CHEAP this scenario falls in the last one cause if someone can afford Internet connection, they can afford a meal too, so there! |

I think that it may be hard on my kids. My daughter and I were at the grocery store today at the refrigerated can food section and thought that I was going to have to grab a can of cinnamon rolls out of her hands before she started licking it. What do you think is up? |

You joking? We just bought 25kgs of huge olives for 25 euros.
You can buy crates of genuine organic food for 2 euros each crate. We have been preserving organic aubergines/tomatoes/peppers/cauliflower/... onions/pickled eggs/chili peppers/broccoli/mushrooms/carrots/peas/... meat/fish of all kinds etc etc etc there's so much food for so little money it's just incredible.
uhm. we are not in the USA but I don't see what difference would that make. I am sure there's way more over there.
btw, Goonhilda, there are tons of offline websites, and also websites offline.
I have a couple thousands websites on my hard drive and they
have never been online. |

Actually... little has changed in my household.
I don't have any outstanding loans and my credit card is used to purchase something small every month then it gets paid off.
I look at the Credit Card as a tool to increase my Credit Score.
But otherwise I don't use it. My cars are used (bought in cash) and I don't spend much on car insurance. My job is safe... as long as I don't do something to jeopardize it I can do this job until I retire or not... it doesn't matter.
We have curtailed the "shopping" for no reason... and more goes into savings then ever before. But I have my emergency funds and savings accounts nicely stocked... |

No, the economy has not really affected us much. Gas is more expensive, but we still have our jobs, and we bought a home we could afford with a fixed mortgage years ago. We are practically debt-free except our house. We live on less than we make and we save diligently.
I don't think "the economy" directly affects most people. Unless you work in banking or for a domestic car manufacturer, you should not see much trouble. |
