Try joining some focus groups. You will be paid to participate in surveys via phone and web, taste tests, and several other "opinion geared" meetings. It is all at will, and usually takes no more than 1-2 hours of your time. Most sessions will pay close to or more than $100.00. There is a yahoo group I am a part of that is called DFWFOCUSGROUPS and lists surveys and opportunities in my area. For example, this Wed. and Thurs. there is a pizza taste test taking place at an office right down the road from my house. It pays $75.00. I would also recommend signing up with www.schlesingerassociates.com. This is a marketing and research company that often conducts phone surveys if you fit the criteria for their particular survey. I usually get at least 1 call a week from them and am given the available times to conduct to phone survey and am then able to choose if I want to participate. It's a great, EASY way to make some extra income. |

You should talk to your local citizen's advice bureau. They will help you negotiate with your creditors and come to an arrangement. You are entitled to a minimum living allowance and over time you may be able to save enough money for little things.
The social security should be able to help you with your dwelling. But talk to CAB first as they will be able to advise you on what you need to ask for.
If the social security feel that your accommodation is not up to standard, they may send workmen around to make good any problems - this may include some painting.
Sadly this may mean you have to neglect your house a bit to really drive the point home...
You should NOT consider another loan - you are too vulnerable now and taking on another loan will only add to your problems.
I'm not sure an IVA would be offered to you as I believe you need to prove you have a regular income - like being self-employed or in FT work.
And remember, any work you do from home for which you are paid will have to be declared and your benefits will be adjusted accordingly. They really clamp down on benefit fraud. |

bilco212 - your are entitled to 80% of the child care costs if you are on a low income but let's look at it realistically.
you get a job. you earn approximately £60 per week more than you get on Income Support. Whilst on Income Support you get a full rent and council tax rebate. Once you lose Income Support you start paying those. So...you earn £60 more, pay out £40 per week on rent, £20-30 per week on council tax and have to find the 20% child care costs. Do the math!!
Ok...it is not an ideal situation but it is not one that low income families have created. they are just unfortunate enough to be caught up in it.
My advice to you would be to go to citizen's advice. they will be able to help you gets your debts into a realistic repayment scheme and they will also know what other help is available to you. They will know of grants or loans you may be eligible for and if there are any furniture projects in your area they will be able to refer you. Once your son gets a bit older and goes to a nursery then school it gets easier as less child care is needed. |

May be I'm not able to clearly understand your pain but I just wanna say that never loose your confidence and never depend on anyone.
The only solution that I've is a loan, however I can offer you any type of loan whether it's a bad credit or secured loan etc. even without any hassle.
You just need to fill up a short online form at here-

Yes, you can go to the CAB and ask them for help preparing an IVA to sort out your debts. This means that you work out your income and expenses and they work out a sensible amount that you can afford to pay towards all your debts each month. They then write to the people you owe money to and offer this amount for 6 years and the rest you owe is written off. Most creditors accept this. Although be warned that this is legally binding and they will take court action if you dont make these payments. Alternately you can set up a payment arrangement yourself the same way. Write to your creditors and explain your situation and ask them to accept your offer of monthly payment and stop your interest for a while. They usually do.
Also try an envelope budgeting system to help you control what you do spend. It really makes a difference and lets you know when you can and cant afford something.
You will find that a lot of people are in the same boat. |

You need to hire a mexican nanny for $2.15 USD per hour and rent one of your rooms to a mexican guest.
Also buy fluorescent bulbs for all the rooms in your house and cancel your cable or satellite television.
Do not buy alcohol or tobacco.
Invite a man to your house once a week if you know what I mean if he can take you and your son to McDonald's for dinner and also give you enough money for breakfast and lunch at McDonald's for you and your son and you will reduce the number of days you need to buy food for you and your son from seven to six. |

Your reasons not to work are flawed, I understand that as a single mum, you can re-claim a substantial part of your child care costs. If you have not asked about that, then you should.
That would remove your basic reson for not working for a living.
You sound as if you believe it is unfair on you to be expected to earn your own income, but what is really unfair is that I should be expected to pay for keeping you. |
