Missie's Mind
Yes there is legal ways to make money from home you just have to look in the right places. The first thing I would do is visit a few forums, as you are a work from home mom try:

http://www.wahm.com They were originally created for work at home moms (hence wahm). They have a forum and advice about different types of businesses available.

I would then write down a list of things that interest you. example do you like dogs, children, clothes etc. Doing something you really enjoy will give you better success and won't feel like work.

Write down a list of the things that you are good at doing. e.g. are you good on computers, selling, talking to people etc. This will help you decide if a job is right for you much quicker than wasting time giving it a go if it's not.

A list of things that you can maybe look into:

Offline

Childminding, Avon, Book Sales, Gift Sales, Dog Walking, Cleaning Business, Book Keeper, House Sitting, Kleeneze

Online

Affiliate Marketing, Virtual Office Assistant, MLM, Ebay, Online Sales, Article Writing (If you are doing online, I would definitely look into a few businesses as multiple income streams is the way people make their money)

The list is endless and there will probably be something out there for you. Check out these websites too:

http://honest-money-making-reviews.blogspot.com
http://www.homeworking.com
http://www.whydowork.com
http://survey-said.blogspot.com
http://www.warriorforumm.com

Above all remember working at home will only work if you really want it to and give it 110%. If something doesn't work (try it for at least 2 months) try something else.

Good Luck
