vetalklas | Is there anything free in USA? |
OK here in USA you have to pay for everything I mean literally; almost any where you go you have to pay for parking, million fees to names some DMV, Banks, late fees, different taxes, lots of things that used to be free now you have to pay for. Does anyone feel the same.I am from Ukraine and its much different there. Are people in America so gritty for money? |

people in america are very very greedy for anything that deals with money because money is the basis for everything and everyone has to have it to live here so it is pretty much every man for themselves the more money the better the life so of course they are going to charge for everything i am a full blood american and i love my country but this is one thing i do not agree with so i am glad its not just me that notices thes thing well hope this helps and if you want i enjoy hearing about other cultures and countries so drop an email sometime at nellylover14_1 @yahoo.com |

You do not have to pay to go to the bathroom like you do in many European countries.
You also do not have as many taxes as most European countries
I do not pay bank fees, but I guess if you do not shop around then you could pay for a lot of things that you do not have too. |

"I have lived in America for forty-six years and yes I agree greed runs this nation and the people in it. The rich get richer and the poor are kept down by the white collar powers that be. It's sad but true"
What a load of crap!
You get what you earn! Nobody's "keeping you down". If you're stuck at the bottom in the US it's because you're not smart enough or you don't have the ambition to succeed.
It's indicative of the welfare mindset of a lot of (poor) people to blame their problems on everyone else. It helps you feel a lot better about yourself and sleep better at night when you can convince yourself that it's not your fault that you are where you are in life.
My family didn't have much of anything when I was growing up, so I got accepted into college, borrowed all the money that I could through GUARANTEED student loans, graduated, got a job, worked hard, got a better job, etc. Nobody kept me down. Nobody helped me out, either. I did it because I had to do it in order to succeed. If you can't or won't do the same thing, then you deserve to be where you are in this world.
As for the person from the Ukraine...I would say to check out the tax rate that people there pay versus what you pay in taxes here in the US. Everything costs no matter where you are. The only difference is where and when you write the check.
Oh, and if you want something that's free, all of the Smithsonian museums in Washington DC are free to visit, as are the various monuments and memorials. |

there's an old economic saying that there's no such thing as a free lunch, just here in america we take that to the next level....and it just happens to be why we're the best....at capitalism anyway.... |

Well, it depends on which part of the US of A you're in. I can't think of a place in the cities where there's anything free, but the sparcely populated areas can be better, especially with parking. Also, once you get to know people better, they can be softer on you if you're a reliable person when they're selling something, or they decide to give you something for free. I went to a gun show where these Chinese massagers gave my dad and brother free 5 minutes worth of massages, if that's any condolance to you. lol But yes, there are free things in America, and yes, there are tons of greedy people. |

Go to craigslist.com and click the area you're living in. Tons of people are giving away free stuff under the "For Sale" section in the "free" category. |

You get what you earn in the USA. There are some things that are free, but there are also things that you have to pay for.
One thing about the USA, we have never kept anyone (with the exception of criminals doing time) from going back to the country that they came from, if they are unhappy here!!! |

Well your not in Ukraine any more so get used to it. If your gonna complain go back to Ukraine, no ones going to miss you here if you are so obviously boring you need to come on here to get attention.
America Is the "Land of the Free" because of Freedom, and not late fee prices buddy. |

You don't have to pay to go to parks and hiking. You're right though. I think that people are so greedy. It doesn't matter where you're from. I think people shouldn't have to pay for things like parking, going to the beach, and going to a lake. |

you must live in a big city. if it makes you feel any better the fees and taxes are just the governments why of making up for the money that every other government in the world takes straight from your paycheck. if want something free try Canada, they have free national health care, but the price you pay is in the higher prices of everything you buy. make a choice, higher taxes and prices or a few fees that annoy. |
