There are only a handful of mortgages left which require no deposit at all. However, they are quite restricted. One is from Northern Bank, which only lends in Northern Ireland and the other is from Tipton & Coseley Building Society, which only lends in the Midlands and requires you to have a guarantor for the mortgage.
There are still loans available for a 5% deposit, but these are few and far between and the deals for a 10% deposit are also dwindling fast. Plus the rates on these products are uncompetitive. These products are too risky for the lenders as with falling house prices you could end up near in negative equity
To get the best deals, you really need to save a 25% deposit.

Very unlikely- that's prob what about what I'd spend on a place but not until I've got 10% deposit at the very least. Until then I'm stuck with the oldies! U looked at rent-to-buy? |
