Go into the Branch where the machine ate it, sometimes, particularly if it is your branch of the bank or Building Society, they will open the machine and give you the card back.
Normally for security reasons any cards recovered in the machines at the start of the next working day are destroyed.
You should be sure that the machine is genuine, if it looks tampered with inform the police straight away, not the bank, they will arrest the people who collect the cards! The bank will remove it and the perps are never caught. |

there is one machine in my town that just swallows all cards! there is no way to get it you just have to go and order a new one! and you dont need to cancel the old card as when the new one is ordered that one becomes a dead card! |

Really? what machine and where? LOL only joking
Call your card provider and let them know so they can cancel your card, also report to whoever owns the cash machine, if there is a problem with it it's gotta be fixed asap to stop anyone else losing their card. |

Hello Stephen - You can call the bank from their phone & report the loss. Call your bank also to avoid charges 2 limit your liability. The bank should hold the card & U go 2 where its held. This can happen if theres some problem w/ your balance, 4 eggs sample. Maybe insufficient funds, etc. |

if it's connected to the bank - you can go inside the bank and have them retrieve it for you- make sure you have picture ID to confirm the card belongs to you |

CONTACT THE BANK without delay .. use the 24Hr emergency 'lost or stolen' line ..
Criminals have been known to tamper with cash machines so that the card is apparently 'eaten' whilst looking over your shoulder at the PIN number you type in .. (they have even fitted machines with web cams to get your number...)
.. the disappointed holder walks off and the criminal uses a pair of long nosed pliers to get the card out again ... you can guess what happens next |

Cancel it immediately by telling your bank. If someone has put a card catcher in that machine you could be in serious trouble! |

1. Cancel it to make sure no future card theft will involve to prevent losses.
2. Call your bank or the card institution immediately to report incident and request for a new one. It usually takes 3-5 business days for a new one to come. |
