$560 is 108% of the former salary.

($560/108)*100 = your answer

Edited to add: ok, a lot of people are giving you the wrong answer. So let me give you the answer and explain why the others are wrong:

The answer is $518.52

If you want to check the answer, find out what an 8% raise would be from $518.52. (518.52 * 0.08 =41.48) Add the raise on. You get $560.

A lot of people here are making the mistake of finding out what 8% of 560 is, and then subtracting it. However, 8% of 560 is more than 8% of 518.52. So they're finding out how much an 8% raise would be from the new salary, but not how much an 8% raise would be from the previous salary.

And Perez almost had it, but I think she rounded down when she should've rounded up.

First you need to find out what 8% of 560 is. Multiply 560 times .08 on your calculator. Then you subtract that from 560, and voila!

tc
0.08 x 560 = 44.8

minus that from 560

560-44.8 = 515.2

$515.20

simple really

why would you need this answered?

Her salary was $515.20 before the 8% raise.

Pink
If she got an 8% raise, then the current salary is 108% of the previous salary, therefore take 92% of 560 (560 x.92). The previous salary
was 515.20. Hope this helps.

cynthiascreams
well whats 8% of 560? o-o

First get the salary(560)then multiply it by 8=44.8=)
then get 560 subtract 44.8=515.2

If you dont get it and ask why it isnt it 1.08 its because it not adding its supposed to be 0.08 cuz your not adding and if you multiply it 1.08 it equals 604.8

Do your own damn homework!

Nettajay
560 x 8% = 44.80
560 - 44.80 = 515.20
or
By calculator follow the steps below:
560 x 8 (hit % sign), you will see 44.80 "-" (hit minus sign) "=" ( hit equal sign) answer is 515.20
