ASG | Loan Application? |
When applying for a loan, is it a plus in telling the lender you are applying for loan to consolidate other loans? Will the lender think you are already in debt or willl appreciate your transfer of loan to him/her? |

It should not affect the outcome of their decision as a lot of people want loans to consolidate other debts, including other loans. |

Makes no difference - the lender will know about the loans and your debt anyway, you can be sure they'll check. |

the lender would take into consideration what the loan is for and paying off the bills would lower your debt load - the lender will probably mail it to them so they know where it went. |

The total amount still owed after the loan would be taken should not be more than 25% of your annual wage. So if you are consolidating several loans into one, consider what proportion of your wage the total amount owed is. If you earn £24k you should not be allowed more than £6k. As far as the less expensive loan companies are concerned. Others will just lend you whatever and charge stupid interest rates. Read the small print and be careful what you borrow. |

In some instances this would be a red flag to a lender, and sometimes they don't mind going the extra mile it will take to change paperwork. |

Because all lenders run a credit check the company will be aware of any other lending and debts already, so it wont make any difference whether you list it or not. The only thing most companies dislike is when CCJs are flagged, and that could be a difficulty. Good luck. |

The lender will find out you are already in debt, lying would be a mistake. It's common for people to take out a loan to pay off smaller ones, that wont worry them as long as you appear able to pay back the new one. |

They will run a credit check on you and find out you already have loans elswhere.
So if you tell them it is to consolidate these loans they will know you aren't getting further credit and so it would be a good thing. |
