It's hard to stop spending, but that is what you're going to have to do. Try looking around for free stuff for your phone, or try to content yourself with what you have.
Ask yourself what it is that will change for you every time you buy something. Put the purchase in the context of previous experience. How much have you played with the last game / ringtone you bought for the phone? Did it really make your life any better? Don't buy straight away. Sleep on it.
You can still get some stuff. You just need to prioritise it all.
Break your income into chunks. Set aside so much solely for saving. That will only be touched in dire emergency.
after deciding to set aside so much, what you have left is yours for now. But you can still choose to use that to save even more.
Set up a book account. One without a cash card. Put your savings in that. If it's too easy to get to at the weekend you might tuck in.
Anyway, you're still young. You shouldn't be afraid to let yourself have fun. |

you need to work yourself out a budget. Decide how much you can allow yourself to spend, and how much you want to save. Then stick to your budget. Even saving a little bit regularly will soon add up. |

Simple - STOP SPENDING YOUR MONEY. That's the ONLY way to stop savings drying up, you know it, you just allow yourself to get distracted. |

Improve your cashflow, then you won't have this problem. Savings are also not a good investment vehicle, in my opinion, because inflation dries up your savings faster than you spending it.
I'd recommend that you ask your parents to buy you a book called, "Rich Kid, Smart Kid," by Robert Kiyosaki. This book will teach you a lot about personal finance. You might as well learn how to use money wisely while you're a kid, then you'll be a prosperous adult some day. |

Put your money in a ISA or another savings account and make sure you can take it out. That way you won't spontaneously buy stuff. |

You have a good head on your shoulders, I applaud you. At your age, I had no savings,,, but don't restrict yourself too much. Save a little, spend a little. Enjoy your teenage years. Plenty of time for restrictions later. |

simple, get a cheap diary, your parents probably have at least one hanging around they were given free at christmas, keep it and a pen with you at all times. Right at the top of the days page how much money you have and make a note of everything you spend and everything you get for pocket money or whatever. At the end of the day write at the top of the next day what you have. It may seem like a hassle but it will make you think before you spend which will slow you down a bit. Make sure you never had less at the end of the week than you had at the beginning. |

Visit this website: www.yurbroke.co.uk - it's all about DISCIPLINE - if you don't have it, then you need help. It'd be better for someone like yourself to give your money over to someone to look after it for you, because you lack te discipline required to do this for yourself. But you'll learn. And in time, you won't even miss the money you set aside. It's strange, but true. You are either a master of money, or a slave to it. |

Limit yourself to say, one mobile phone download a week (if you're really obsessed) or one a month (if less so) and keep to it! That way, you'll stop downloading the crappy ones too, as you'll have to decide which one you really want and which one you're not bothered about.
If you're on "pay as you go" or anything like that, put a tenner on your phone once a week and don't add to that during a week. Be Strict on yourself!
You simply need to consider the money before going online and deciding that you aren't going to download, you're just going to browse.
Good luck |

This is what I do - as soon as my wages from my job go into my Bank Account, I have asked the Bank to transfer a certain amount into another account I have got with another bank. I have cut up the withdrawal card for this second account - by the time the second bank sends out a new card I have either forgotten the pin number or there is a really healthy amount in there.
Also once a year my employers give everyone a bonus, and I pay an extra £100 into my second account. |

Millions of people have the same problems, so you are not alone. Millions have benefitted from the idea of PAYING YOURSELF FIRST. This means you figure out a comfortable amount to save each week or whenever you are paid. Be realistic. You need some of your distractions but think of the amount you want to save as if it's a bill you have to pay, just like the phone bill, credit card or rent. Then you see it as the bill you must pay first. Put it in the bank before you pay any other bills. This makes it easier for you to save and you just spend what's left the same way you do now. There's no need to change your whole lifestyle just remember to PAY YOURSELF FIRST. |

Get rid of the cell phone and internet. Stop buying things. Make savings a priority. If you really have no self-discipline to save, ask your mom or dad to keep your money for you and not give you any unless you really need (not want) it.
Only you can decide what's important, saving or spending. |
