I was always impressed when I would by groceries and avoid eating out, how much money I was able to get by on. Try limiting yourself to an amount that is possibly a bit extreme, and see how you fair for a week or so. By doing this you will quickly see what you "need" to live on, and those goods/services that you "want".

Try keeping a spending diary for a couple of months. Make a note of every single penny you spend. If you're feeling really flash you can transfer that on to a spread sheet so you can get a picture of exactly how much you are spending and on what every month. Then you can consider ways that you realistically can cut back. Everybody is different so what works for you isn't necessarily what works for somebody else. Good luck

I would check and see what you spend most on. theres a good site www.moneysavingexpert.com where you can compare prices and get good tips.

It is worth a look at the forums section where people put in questions and other consumers put in solutions. I have found it useful for sites for selling old mobiles, comparing bank accounts, best ways to reduced car insurance.

Its really first class!
Good luck

think about ways to save money, even small ways. Reuse baggies, comparison shop....buy the store brand, the larger brand, don't eat out, don't buy anything you don't really need....alcohol, coffee, videos, perfume, hair highlights, tanning, internet, cable tv etc. Use all the money that you save to pay off bills or start a savings account. Do anything you can to avoid paying interest. You willl never get ahead if you pay more than the value of something, especially 10 to 20% more! As you begin to accumulate savings and reduce bills, then you can evaluate what may be added back into your life.....but only as you can honestly afford it.

learn to do simple tasks on your own. Like wash your own car. save plastic bags from shopping for trash bags rather then to buy trash bags. Cook your own meals so you can eat at home. Look for bargains on sale at the store. Use cash for spending rather then using your credit card. Find ways to limit your spending habits.

sell some old **** on ebay - anybody will buy it!

Stay in instead of going out?

Buy shops own brands of goods not named brands (such as Asda ham as opposed to Burnard matthews) etc.

sign up to an adult chat network where you talk to guys on the phone - could get lots of cash!!!!!

Get rid of your car. They cost more then you think. Walk to places. Get a boy friend who has a good income and get him to spend it on you. Call in any money you are owed. Just don't spend! Don't buy sandwiches - make them from scratch. Don't buy bottled water or Cola or those sort of things - drink from a tap. Cut down on food - look for bargains - grow some vegetables. Don't smoke or drink. Only spend money to make money. If you follow the advice given in all these answers you will be rich in no time and making money and retaining it will become a hobby to you as it has with me

First find out where your money is going. Track every cent you spend by cash, check or credit card for a couple of weeks. Keep a written record that you update daily.

You will see areas where spending can be cut - maybe painfully. But things like cell phones, eating out a lot, daily coffee at Starbucks, etc all add up and are not necessary.

Once you cut out unneccessary expenses, list all your fixed costs like rent, food and utilities. Then add in credit card and other bills. Hopefully you will have something left to use either to save or pay down debt. If not, you might have to look for a higher paying job or work two jobs for a while until you get things under control.

reduce every thing down ie cable subscription broadband to dialup ect ect u can save loads of money also go to monysaving .com there are some good ideas on there

Find how much $$ you make after tax, SS, others.

Subtract from that amount how much you want to save. That will give you your total spending allowance. Now try to change you lifestyle to fit you allowance, if it’s not sustainable then get a second job, but do not touch your savings instead try find other ways to get more $$

use coupons. buy in bulk when possible. don't eat out as much. don't buy unneccessary items. cut down on entertain costs. carpool. take the bus. turn off the lights when not in use. put a bottle of soda in the toilet so you don't use as much water per flush. lots of things! =D
