Always take the money when you are given it, remember this.
Don't listen to people saying to leave it with your parents because when your parents will owe you 200 quid they'll never give it to you but they'll give you a few pounds at the time..
No need to waste money buying a terracotta pot that's just going to get broken, just don't take it with you, leave it at home somewhere safe (perhaps in a sock, free and cheerful! )and don't go near sweet shops..
as soon as you catch the "collecting bug" it'll be very easy to save more and more money and it'll help you later on in life, you never know when you'll need it. |

Leave your money at home. You already get a packed Lunch so why the need to buy Snacks?
I used to get £1 a day and always kept spending it. In the end I obviously had no money at all so I started leaving money on Home on different days of the week. That way by the end of the week you will have some cash for the next week.

Half the money. Put one half in a jar or money box. Buy a multipack of goodies from the supermarket with the other half. Take a couple of bars in your bag with you each day to college. These saved pounds will add up. ( eventually) |

Buy yourself a Terramundi pot. Its a type of money box which cant be opened without smashing it. The idea is you decide what you want to save for, put in the first coin and write what you want on a bit of card and put it in with it. If you put £1 and £2 coins in, they can save up to £600 before they're full.
They are between £15 and £20 so you will have to save a little to get one, although if you explain to your folks they may get you one to help you along the way. I'm sure they'd want you to save the money too.

I know how it feels, I had that problem but why don;t you tell your parents to like save it up for you, and make sure that they stop you from taking the money. That way when theres something you might want later on, you'll have the money there for you. Thats what I do =] Its hard but keep practising and you'll get there in the end =] =] |

If you can't trust yourself to hold onto it...give it to someone else to hold....your mum? or? or set up a savings account somewhere which would be better...you would get some interest. When your mum gives you the money put into an envelope and ask her to hold onto it for? or until the weekend then pay it into a savings account. |

Ask you parents to only give you one allowance a week and the rest into a savings account jar/account. Then because you have no money you will not be tempted to buy extra. Or get a part time job and put that into an account.
Plus ask yourself are you hungry or just comfort buying also try walking along to the next shop that sells those goods, that way your urge to snack eat may go away. Otherwise add more food 2 your packed lunch. |
