I used to own a 3 bed terraced house in Manchester and I paid about £400 a year on water, about £60 a quarter on gas and electricity and about £100 a month on council tax. |

It really depends on how much is used. |

it depends on how big your house is and whether your going to be there all day or out all day, is the water metered. All these things will make a difference. I recomend asking the current occupiers to give you a guide on bills. Council tax is another bill you will need to consider. |

It depends on the house the area etc. The best thing would be to sort all this out before you move as you dont want any surprise expenses to come up! |

It depends on a lot of factors, i.e. whether you have central heating, double glazing, and use gas or electric, how much you use etc.
We have electric only and we live in a flat. We never need to use the heating as it is so warm in this flat all year round because it's a new build and the insulation is very good. We have the water heater on a timer so it heats up for a few hours in the night ready for a shower in the morning.
We spend about £50-100 every three months on electricity. Sorry not sure about water. |

It honestly depends how much you use. If your abig technology fan then you will be using alot of electricity, if your a big cooking fan then your gas and water will go up. So it really depends aswell as depending on the people that you live with. How much they use and how economic you are with things like your meals and such. An example would be if you all demand to eat different things and you cook three seperate meals aside from it being expencive you also end up using more water and gas than you would if you cook one meal for the three of you. also depends how often your in and how much tv or games you play. If you watch alot of tv and play alot of games consoles or listen to alot of music on a stereo then you will expect to have a huge electricity bill. But I would suggest finding out the eletricity, water and gas supplier and looking on there websites. |

We're in the middle of a recession, and you want to move out? Oh boy! You better stay home and save your money. That freedom isn't so valuable when you're struggling to pay all the bills. Trust me! It's very expensive! I calculated it the other day, and I discovered it would be virtually impossible for anyone working a full-time, minimum-wage job to make it on their own. If you're not making at least $25,000 a year, you can hang it up. Even then, you're going to be barely scraping by, and it will be very difficult. With those roommates, it will be easier, but how much are they paying? If you move out, best to get lots of friends who all have jobs, but not everyone keeps their job. Then you end up moving back home anyway. :) Probably a good idea to stay home and save your money, or stay in a dorm room on a college campus. |
