My Bank is taking money from me?
So I have two accounts at one bank, a checking and a savings. There are no monthly or annual fees or anything, however, upon checking my accounts online, I find that there are some transactions that I never made, taking only small sums like five dollars. Under type and description it just reads: "other." What's the deal?
Additional Details
I forgot to mention that all the withdrawals are from my savings account, which I can only access online or at the bank.

yeah man, thats why whenever i get money, i just put a portion of it in there. It seems the banks number one goal is toe Scam you and leave you face first, *** up, in a muddy ditch. No seriously, thats how they make their money, giving loans to people they know cant pay them back, and Overdrafts which i get alot because of the Thieving bank.
I get the -5.00$ also, it comes up under "service charge" I think thats funny when I have "free checking"

Ashley
You need to call your bank and find out what is happening. They can tell the exact place that those transactions were made. If it turns out that they are taking the money, you need to find a new bank.

talk to the bank about it

Sounds like someone has access to your on-line account information and is using it to make small transfers to another account. This could be the bank doing it to prevent you from having an overdraft of your checking account as well. Check with your bank to find who or what the deductions are for.

If the amounts are all the same and at the same time each month then it sounds like there were some fees you weren't aware of, maybe there was no annual fee if you had at least a certain balance? If thats not it then you should definately call them or go to the bank and ask them about it.

someone has your number. it happens a lot...especially at large banks. Just keep an eye on it....make printouts and go to the president. if it is an inside job you don't want to go to a clerk....just in case if it is that person. want to be able to catch them in the act.

you know you could sue for that right because that's your property and they're supposed to be trusted on that...

take your bank statements into the bank and ask them. Or phone them. It is OK to ask.

kwflamingo
You need to check with your bank - they could be a service charge because the balance is below a certain level, they could be fees due to other issues - but you need to check with your bank and find out the reason for the withdrawals.

Jenster
There could be a couple of problems... but yes, you need to call your bank.

Some banks require a minimum balance, or have a limit on the # of withdrawls for savings accounts, and some require a direct monthly deposit, or they will charge you. In the case it is a "bank charge" it should list as such.

Otherwise, it could be someone with your bank information making small withdrawls hoping you won't notice. This is how the scam begins....
