Chances are, that by the time you're typing this, you're already in the ChexSystems database. Once you get there, it's pretty difficult to open another checking account. You had accounts with 3 of the 6 largest banks in the country. It's going to be tough to get another one opened, especially if they decide to put those accounts on your credit report as well.

so this is what I'm telling you:

The link I posted below lists bank by state that don't use chexsystems:

http://www.secondchancecheckingaccount.net/

This link is to a checking account alternative called account now. It has similar features (free direct deposit, online billpay, Mastercard debit card) but they don't use chexsystems as well

http://www.accountnow.net/default.aspx?pcode=Cg100Sgs00&scode=T1011&SR=sr2an21go1856cb101pi13ai16&gclid=CJ-ey7iW4o8CFRusGgod72cbDQ

My advice would be to pay those accounts off ASAP. The sooner the better because you might be able to negotiate getting them removed from your credit report if in fact they did report them on your credit.

You remain on the chexsystems database for up to 5 years or at the discretion of the bank if they want to remove you sooner.

Why don't you call a credit help number and work out a payment plan?
1. I think it is up to the bank , but they will most likely open a new account for you.
2. see answer to 1
3. Run a free credit report and find out.

Penguin
Just pay each bank what you owe.

what you'll need to do is pay off your debits, after that yes you will be able to open up another account. Waht you may wnat to thing about is getting a savings account only. Some credit unions will allow you to open up a savings account only until you get your credit straight after which allowing you to open up another checking account. As far as your credit what happens is you go into this system called checks systems and you will not be able to write a check anywhere anymore or until you get your credit straight. I know I've been there. As long as you don't pay the balance off it will show up on your credit almost immediately

Did the account delinquencies go to Cheque Systems? Bank Account closings themselves do not go to Credit Report; they go to Cheque Systems. Once you are in there in is impossible to get out. I think it takes like 5 years from the date you pay the balances off. Only efforts by collection agencies to collect the remaining money will go to your credit report.

This is not good.

It will most likely go to both Credit report and Cheques systems.

Try to open one somewhere else. If they deny you it is because you are in Cheques Systems. Game over. If not, open that one and keep it open - don't mess it up!

just use any cash as u have for right now...then pay then after when u got money or pay them all by one credit card ...most ppl will have aleast 2000 on credit i think....

fotochic
1- it depends on the bank really some you can and some you cant and some you would have to either have a co signer or not go under 1000.00
2-again its up to the bank i had this happen to me once and it was not true and from when i was younger and some banks were ok with it some werent.
3-it wont take that long for it to show up but it will take a long time for it to get off. you can get a hold of the banks and say hey ill pay this contingent upon you having it removed immedietly from my credit, they can do that they can send a letter to the credit agency.

good luck and hey we all make mistakes.

sweetypie12
First pay the debt because if u don't u wont be able to open another one if u don't. So that answer the question to your second and first. it would at least take it about a couple of months to show up on your credit it depends on how long u had this problem

Yes, you can open accounts in the future, but you will more than likley need to pay these debts first. Some banks will allow you to open a savings, but more than likly not checking. And you definatly wont be able to open any account at these branches without paying off the money.

Banks are fairly quick about reporting to credit agencies. I would say they are/were reported with in 30-60 days of delinquincy.

You need to calm down and make out a budget. You really arent that far in debt yet, make a plan before you are. Assuming you have a job, take 50$ a week or pay check or whatever, and apply it towards the neg balance of one of your accounts. Start with the smallest one first, so that ou see progress.

Even after you pay these debts, it may leave some neg credit on your report, so be aware when applying for other lines of credit in the near future.

I am a little confused. Do you owe these banks money because of credit cards? If so,your credit is messed up. It can be fixed. You need to pay those banks off Asap or at least make payments to show that you are trying to make good on you debt. You will be able to open up a savings account with minimal problems. My best advise is to not get yourself in this kind of trouble again. Don't use credit cards.

You should try opening a savings account first, then go online and try to open a checking account at the same bank. Because you will be considered an existing customer, the bank may not do a chexsystems or credit check.
Another option is to open a pre-paid credit card. Then you can send any checks you receive to them and they will credit your account. Most stores and even bill payers accept credit cards.
A third option is to see if there is a credit union at your place of employment. As an employee I believe you are entitled to open an account without a background check.

armondian
1 - yes
2 - most banks will run a check on you and that will show up. They will usually give you a paper to have the other bank fill out saying that debt has been paid off.
3 - From experience in working with a bank it, it can be anywhere from 60 days to 6 months.

go with one bank and stick to the best bank you can open several accounts with just one bank. Sometimes if you dont use you account for several months they think you dont want it or theres a problem. Call the bank that you think would serve you better and you think that youd be happy with and talk to them about what offers they can make as a customer. Ask them any thing and just pry them until youve made a decision.
