Ok, my husband works and she works, make the same money, but I don't work, I stay home and take care of my daughter and my house and keep the hubby and the bestie happy by keeping them organized. What is the best way for us to divvy up for 3 adults and one child? Including cable, electricity, rent, rental insurance, water??? Who pays for me? Do they half up? Or am I a 3rd person whom someone is responsible for? I definitely feel I earn my keep by going above and beyond. A well written budget plan would be a definite bonus, if ya could?! In my view, she should pay 1/3 (her fair share) of the total fixed costs of the household: rent, utilities, insurance, food, plus a premium for your hospitality, which I'd set at 7 percent, to make it an even 40%. That seems fair. |

I think you do your fair share in the house, It would be different if you didnt have a child, and left all the household chores to your husband and friend.
I think it should be a 50/50 split. |

I say ...your family ....child, you and spouse lived there on one salary. That made the three of you one unit. If your best friend moves in she should pay half of rent or mortgage and utilities.
She is still saving on what she would pay to live alone. |

I would say you husband pays for you, and your friend pays for herself.
If you keep them organized, you make the budget. Get your friend to give you her third of the rent. |

how does her living there have any real impact to your bills? if she wasnt living there you will still have cable, elec, rent, rental insurance and water, right?
my advice: you get with your husband and make sure he continues to stay on top of the bills like he did before she got there. meanwhile, come up with a set amount for her to pay, instead of directly making her responsible for a bill that is not in her name. i understand the friend thing and we all want to believe that it will "never happen to me".
if you've never been paying bills then why should you have to start cause she is there? |

WOW!! What a whiner!!! i bet your "bestie friend" is really enjoying the enviorment she put herself in. i would suggest composeing a rent/lease contract. specifing everything, possibly split 1/3rds. Make it legal and SAVE this wonderful frienship of 22 yrs. BLESS YOU!!! |
