If it's under his name only, you're in the clear. If you were just a co-user on the card, you're still in the clear. If you were a co-signer, thenyou should contact an attorney and file chptr 7. |

Whose name is the Credit Card in? If it is in both of your names then you will have a hard time proving that he was the one that made all of the charges. You got screwed over, and now you will probably have to pay for it for the rest of your life. I suggest being more careful with who you trust when it comes to your money/credit cards/bank accounts. If the card is in his name, it's not your problem ... when the creditors call, just tell him he does not live there anymore, and give them him current address or phone number so they can reach him. |

u are so screwed, same thing just happened to my brother-in-law with his x wife, and he didnt even know about most of the credit card accounts she was paying the minimum each month, i pulled his credit report and he ahd a middle score of 750 which is excellent credit rating, however, he got the kids and there was no way he could pay off this debt in the next 20 years even if he paid more than the minimum each month which he could not afford. i advised him to declare bankruptcy which he did so he would not have to deprive himself and the kids of the better things in life as they were growing up. if your name is on these accounts as a co borrower, you will want to find the services of a good bankruptcy attorney for this will destroy your credit and follow you for the rest of your life |
