cristahochell | My ex boyfriend bought me furniture in his name only. He quit making payments and now they want to repo it.? |
Can they do this since it is im my home and mu name was no where on the agreement? |

Yes, of course they can do it. It's *his* furniture, and *he* stopped paying for it, so the company is taking it back from *him*. You have absolutely no say in the matter.
If you really want to keep the furniture, you're going to have to contact the company and see if you can make arrangements to either pay for it all at once, or get the credit switched into your name. |

I know that you have gotten used to having it around, but if you think about it in terms of right and wrong you would not even have asked the question. It is not paid for so it is still theirs. It will cost them to repo it so maybe they will work out a deal with you. But nobody owes you any furniture. |

No, they can not. They have to take your ex boyfriend to court first and get a judgment. Then they can force you to return it. |

yes they can and it will not effect your credit but will hurt his |

Unless you take over the payments yes they can. |

Yes, if he doesn't pay they can repo the furniture whether it is in his house or your house or anywhere - why in the world would they let you keep it without getting paid? If you want it, you should contact them to take over the payments. |

Simple. Give them the furniture. It theirs. |

The com[pany can take it back. But to them it is only worth second hand price. So make them a reasonable offer well below the oustanding loan. |

Talk with the company that made the original arrangement. If you are in a position to take over payments they *may* let you. If not, they have ever right to repo it since your ex stop making payments under the original terms of the contract. |

If you like the stuff that much, then you must pay it or you can't do anything about it when it's taken away.. At least it's not in your name so your credit dosent get ruined. So looks like you need to make a decision if you really want it or not..It's the stores untill it is paid in full. |

Yes they can. |

Unfortunately they can. It doesn't matter where the furniture is. If he stopped making payments, than they can take it back. It's the same concept as when they repo a car. If the owner stops making payments, they will repo it no matter where it's parked. It could be parked at their home or it could be parked 4 towns away at a friends. At least it's in his name only, so it won't effect your credit. Try talking to the store. They may let you rebuy the furniture and make payments on what's left. Home everything works out for you! |
