Ask one more time & give her a time frame to pay back. If she can't pay the whole amount, ask for payments & set up a schedule.

If she doesn't comply, and you don't have any of the transactions in writing legally, then you have no recourse.

Consider it a loss on your part. A gift to your friend. A lesson learned. And NEVER again loan money to anyone ever, especially friends.

Tell her that if she is really your friend it wouldn't be an issue to pay it back, it's been too long now and if she doesn't have the whole 100 then she better start making some payments here....I mean come on, she isn't showing much in terms of friendship by not paying....some friend

nas88caror 300
well maybe you can ask her to pay it back in smaller amounts like maybe 10 a month or every two weeks..its not worth it to go to small claims..unless you want o lose her as friend also but you do what you got to do

Doclester
Tell her straight that you are in need of money too. Some friends are abusive if they sense that you are not self-assertive. Don't threst her, just tell that you deserved to be paid back.

you could take her to the small claims court.. it may work.. go to the citizens advice beaurau

Here's what you do: Never lend a friend money. It always leads to trouble. So let it go.

If you try to do anything else. like go to small claims court (or the equivalent in your country), it will just cost you time and money. Is it worth doing all of that for 100?

I say write the girl off and stop talking to her. And take this as a learning experience.

Friends don't lend friends money. You lost it

Ask her again to pay you back. If you can't give you the lump sum, set up a payment arrangement. Insist on it, and then follow up with her for the actual payments. Unfortunately, if she didn't sign anything, there isn't really a legal way to get your money back. This is why everyone advises to NOT lend money to friends and family.

NEXT TIME YOU GO SEE YOUR FRIEND WHEN U R DONE VISITIG GO OVER AND START UNHOOKING LIKR HER DVD OR TELEVISION WHEN SHE ASKS WHAT R U DOING TELL HER U OWE ME MONEY SO ILL JUST USE IT TILL I GET PAID SHE WILL PAY OH HEY SHE WILL PAY

Find a lawyer who will work for a percentage. But be sure that whatever you sign states exactly the percentage he will take.

boker_magnum
Hire someone for 500 to get it from them.

I have always heard to never give your friend money unless it is just out of kindness and if you don't expect it back. Your friend sounds like she took advantage of you and you have a right to be angry. Money can end a friendship because it breaks the trust. Learn from this and do not do it again. If you value the friendship then maybe she will come around and pay you but I doubt it. My friend owes me a lot of money and I know that I will never get it back. It is your decision on what the next step is and you can see a lawyer to help you.

ANGEL-T
Never lend your friends money. If shes a true friend, forget it, let it be. Otherwise tell her, that whether she can repay the money little by little, say 10 pounds every week.

Sassy OLD Broad
I'm not sure it's enough to take to small claims court. I would advise you to forget about the money and don't ever loan her anything again. You paid for a lesson in real friendship.

I made the same mistake myself and it took me threatening to take her to small claims court to get it back. Lesson learned, never loan money to friends or family.

Jennifer B
Well ya know what...you really should never lend money to anyone unless you really don't need it back.

You made a bad decision when you lent her the money, learn something from it....don't do it again.

Expensive lesson.....yes....is it worth losing the friend over....that's your call......

tehabwa
Since it's pounds you lent, and I'm in the US, I don't know what recourse you have. Bringing in the law will not exactly help the friendship, if you still want to keep it.

Ask again. If she says, no, then ask for 20, or whatever you can get. Or ask to borrow 20 from her, five times over the course of five months.

In general, don't lend more than you can afford to lose, unless you've already experienced that the person pays back their loans.

I don't go as far as saying "never lend money to friends" as there was a time in my life I habitually borrowed from a friend, and habitually paid him back. No one was burned, and I was helped.
