Are you actually insolvent? If you have equity in your house you could pay off your debts by selling. .
Best to see an accountant or the Citizens Advice Bureau. |

Happened to me about 5 years ago. I filed and am doing fine now. It speeds up the process of getting out of debt. |

Bankruptcy should be the last choice option. It WILL NOT clear all debts, some will survive beyond bankruptcy. I have placed a link to an article I wrote on this subject. If you would like some free informal feedback email me a summary of your situation through the website below. BUT if you still feel bankruptcy is for you then I would strongly recommend CAB - Citizen's Advice Brueau - its free and they have experience in this area. |

I did it 5 years ago it was the best thing I ever did. Go for it and get a fresh clean start money problems are no fun at all. You will have it on your record for 7 years which is how long late payments stay on your credit report also. That debt consolidation in b.s. it lowers your credit score the same amount as a BK maybe even more but you have to still pay off the accounts. |

a BK is the last thing you want to do, because you file it at your county courthouse making it public info for the rest of your life. go to www.adviceontime.com they have a ton of info on credit. they can help you out or at least point you in the right direction, plus its free advice so it doesnt cost you a thing |

Perhaps the best thing you can do, at least she cannot get a lot of money out of you if you have not got any. Contact citizens advice bureau they will put you in the right direction. Good luck you will get over this and be able to start again |

see a debt advisor to see if there is any other way out for you first as if you are declared bankrupt it can cause many other problems in the future and you are on the blacklist for 10 years. |

A relative of mine was having serious money problems and gave Ideal Finance Solutions a call - http://www.idealfinancesolutions.co.uk and says that they gave him some really good advice.
Before you take the very serious step of declaring yourself bankrupt - at less give then a call and see if they can offer you anything. Bankruptcy should be the last resort in cases of a very serious debt problem. |

The best people to approach is the national dept line who will advise you who to contact. You can consider debt management whom will take over your debtors and you have to pay them a certain amount monthly to forward to these debtors. These IVA's stop all interest and can guarantee being dept free in five years. My experiences with people have gone this way has been positive as it slowly increases their credit rating. To go bankrupt will be quicker but you will be affected in the future if you need credit for anything. The latter way will have a worser impact with your rating.

You may be in trouble in future. Think of future employment problems. |

Yes consider it.
you need to talk to a professional Bankruptcy adviser. Be aware that their are a lot of fakes out there.
One good way is to ask a good firm of accountants to recomend someone.
Take good advice.
They can take the pressure off you.
Take heart, there is life after this. You can rebuild your life.
Good Luck. |

Bankruptcy is an option, but:
Now that the new bankruptcy law is in effect. Some filers with higher incomes won't be allowed to use Chapter 7, but will instead have to repay at least some of their debt under Chapter 13.
All debtors will now have to go to a credit counseling class before they can file for bankruptcy, and also must attend additional counseling classes on budgeting and debt management before their debts can be wiped out.
For more info on the new changes visit |
