I am a single mom, and when my husband left me for his new girlfriend, he left me all the bills, which he had made me put in my name because, "I had good credit". Now my credit score is in the hole and I do not make enough to take care of all the bills, my daughter, food and rent. I need to get a loan to consolidate my debt in order to be able to breath easy again. I am looking for a legit loan. I need help really bad. Have you tried calling the American Consumer Counseling Center? They may have good ideas or advice for you - unlike a lot of those "debt solution" places, this is a non-profit and won't take your money.

You must be able to get some money from your ex.
Look if there's law counseling service in your local area. Call womens groups (local or national). Maybe there's some help (services or money) available.
About the consolidation loan, try your bank and try again some members of your family. Explain that maybe you've made mistakes in the past, but what's over is over and in order to raise your daughter in decent conditions, you need a co-signer.

Look in your phone book under credit counseling agency. Where I live Goodwill runs one so you might be able to find a non-profit one. They work with your creditors to get your payments and interest manageable. You make one payment to them and they spread it around to your creditors. It's not a loan, just a solution. You should be able to go in and talk to them for free and then decide if you want to use them. |
