ya, i think a job would be good. why do you need a new computer if your only 14? consider buying a computer on ebay for only about 200 dollars, you can get a pretty good one.
The fact that your only fourteen may make it pretty difficult. Have you asked your parents? If they don't have the finances, tell them to consider www.prosper.com. its a website that allows people to bid on other people's loans requests. you can request as little as 1000.00. since you are only 14, consider having your parents create the account for you, then you pay the monthly payments to them.
Do you know your neighbors? Can you walk their dogs, housesit for them when they go out of town? maybe do some gardening for them, or some random things around their houses? don't be too shy to ask, most adults love to see children with initiative.
But make sure you also consider the expense, and make sure its worth it.

you could get a job but it would take more than 1 month to earn $1000. You might need to save for 6 months to have enough to buy the computer. Keep in mind that you can get a very good laptop for $600. Also you do not need a new computer you want one. |

One thousand dollars, how about a less expensive one to begin with? Or a second hand one if it has to be that kind exact. Welcome to the real world, at least at your age no jerk of credit card company can suck you in. |

You can try this. They don’t ask for a credit card or any money, like the scam sites. You won’t get rich though. It’s about $100 per week. They pay by Paypal and check. I have posted pictures of Paypal payments I have received, as proof.

That's a lot. I'd try writing grandparents first. Then wash cars, ask you parents what extra chores they have for you, mow lawns, walk dogs. Not much work out there for kids :(
