When I bought my 2006 corolla about a year ago, my credit score was 700+ with no major purchases on my record (other than a few $2k limit each credit crds), and my financing rate on the car was at 12.9%.
Now that I'm in good standing on the car and my other credit crds for over a year, would it be possible to lower my interest rate if I refi the car? I also usually pay about $20-50 more than my min pmnt on my credit crds bec I heard it will improve my credit score.
I had the cards for at least a few years though, so don't be confused and think I only had the cards for a year also.
What do you think I can get approx for my credit score? I'm also a senior in college if that matters and currently pull in about $3k/ month, but that will significantly increase after I graduate?
Is it worth it to refi?

It's pretty hard to refinance a car. Your credit may be better but your car is older and has more miles on it and that's the key with a car refi. Still, going to the bank where you have the loan and talking to them would not hurt! Credit Unions are a bit easier to deal with on a car refi. |

You will have to search for a car loan with a lower rate. Since the credit crunch not many banks are even making loans. Check with the company currently holding your car loan. |
