You could try an organization called modestneeds.org they help the not so rich with day to day emergency expenses, if you tell them about your situation they might be able to help. You do need to sign up at there site, but there is no cost invovled. here is a quote from there website
"To prevent otherwise financially self-sufficient individuals and families from entering the cycle of poverty, when this might be avoided with a small amount of well-timed financial assistance;" |

Have you tried Craigslist in the area where you live? Look it up.
There is a barter section and you can post for what service you need and offer to barter things like your time...typing, cleaning, cooking, organizing...Or ask if there are any mechanics who would let you pay over a short amount of time.
You can also sell things on CL and the postings are free. Got any old jewelry you don't wear? Any old furniture?
Sorry for your troubles. I have been there. Heck, I'm practically there now. Times are hard and I wish you the best. |

It depends what state you are in, but Job and Family Services have a PRC program in many states that is intended to keep people working and will help with things such as car repairs. If you have been on your job 6 months and have low income. Also check with the local salvation army. I am in Ohio and I know this program is available here. Also, try to get your credit improved so in the future you have an option. Have you tried www.paydayok.com?They have easy payday advances that you can make small ten or 20 dollar payments on until you can pay off. Email me if you need help with credit advice. |

If you have a job and a plan, you can apply for a state or county diversion at your local social services if they offer those in your state. Ask if the mechanic will take payments. If you belong to a credit union, check on a signature loan. Check at the college you attend to see if they have a mechanic's program-sometimes they will fix them free of charge or just for the cost of parts, but you have to wait longer. |

God bless yeah... maybe if we knew more. To be quite honnest when I was in school and then was out on my own with the kids I did a variety of things to make everything kinda almost meet. ebay was just starting on the up hill... I jump on board. I got into kick boxing for energy release and before I knew was in great shape after three kids, became an instructor, then became a dancer... yup a dancer.. good money, short hours.... finished school debt free.... the kids are fantastic picking their colleges and now I have the job that can pay for their college. It's not for everyone but as women we do what we can and the Good Lord we hope provides the rest. Good Luck! |

What you need to do is find out exactly what is wrong with your car. What work needs to be done, then get a chilton book on your car cost about $15, then go to Auto Zone or call a few wrecking yards and get the parts cheap and follow the books step by step instructions on solving your cars problems. If this is way to hard for you to learn ask some friends at school it they no anybody that works on cars or has some knowledge of cars that may help. You would be more likely to get this help than from a business or getting a loan and burying yourself in deeper in debt. Good Luck! |

eBay has people that sell their name or body space for tattoos. You could offer to wear a tshirt or tattoo of a company while in school. It might not be $400, but it would be legal. |
