If you have that much of a negative balance your bank would contact you via phone or as you stated by mail. First you should be more careful...this much of an error is cause for a district attorney to put a warrant out for your arrest if you do not comply.
You need to swallow your pride and call the bank and find out what you need to do. Don't mess around with this or it will come back and bite you in the butt so hard and jail will seem like a walk in the park.
As for getting money quickly...get this straight first with the bank. If they have only given you until July 1st then you more than likely have had this problem for a long while and need to get help. |

In most cases the bank will close your account and send it to a collection agency to collect the funds. If your account goes to collection you may not be able to open an account anywhere else until that is paid off because most banks would report you to Chexsystems. The only way to get quick cash is borrowing it or taking a loan or personal line of credit out. Good Luck! |

They should of not let you use that account for anything. Let alone go that far in debit.
It is not fraud if the account has overdraft protection or if using a atm/debit card. (The bank could of blocked the debit card from being used).
Credit Card Check. It will be high interest but it would be worth it of course depends on your cash advance limit. Make sure you have a high cash advance limit with that card. |

Yikes! and I thought I had it bad when I was $120 in the hole.
Talk to your bank and set up a payment strategy., Do not.... DO NOT... get a loan to pay it back. If you get a loan, once it is all paid back, you'll probably end up paying almost twice the amount.
Also, DO NOT ignore this. CALL THE BANK and set up repayment. If you let it ride without doing anything, it's small-claims court for you.... actually, at almost $5G's, it's BIG claims court. You showed no effort to resolve the matter so bend over and take it up the wazzu... with no lube.
Tip: When talking to the bank, ask about a "Settlement Amount"... those are the words to use. They can usually chop what you owe them by a 3rd, if not in half or more. Better to owe $3000 than $5000.
KNOW what regular payments you can afford to pay. Make a spread sheet with all your expenses and compare it to all your take-home income. Don't forget to include things like meals and gas in figuring your expenses on a per-paycheck basis. Present that statement to the bank and that gives them something to work with.
There is no quick fix here. Make your arrangement, stick with it, and in time it'll clear up. |

What's going to happen is that they will send your account to a collection agency, and then they will try to get the money from you, but it will be more because of the interest, see if you can get a loan or something because it's really bad credit report. good luck |

Depending on the bank, you are probably going to lose your account on that date. They report to the Chex system so it will be very difficult to get another account.
I know how fast one mistake can snowball into a huge mass of fees, but I find it hard to believe you could have gone $4968.08 in the hole without a lot of bad check writing.
You may end up having to put yourself on cash only for the next 12 months. Only pay with cash or money orders, and write down all of your expenses and make a plan on how you are going to pay back the money to the bank.
As for ideas on how to make that kind of money really fast:
- Ask your local church to help you raise the money by doing car washes or other sales. Churches will be very willing to help you get out of tight spots. The thing is, you have to be willing to accept mentorship from someone who is good at managing money in order to receive assistance.

All of these responses are so idiotic, it's sad that our society is filled with so many retards! None of these answers are helpful nor insightful. What will most likely happen is that the bank will call and email you for up to 120 days. Then if you cannot pay it back they will report you to the chexsystems, which is a banking system that other banks can see. It may be difficult to open another checking account, so I would open one up before 60 days goes by and they report you. Afer that you can still open one up if you depsosit over 500 cash into an account. As far as the chechsystems, the negative report can stay on there for 5 years. Not the end of the world, just stay with another bank for 5 yrs and don;t make the same mistake. |

Wow I checked my account today put 200.00 from savings to cover some checks I wrote and bamm was hit with a $50,398.00 debit later that nite WTF now all my checks bounced and have 13 returned check charges and weren't covered. I had the money, guss the bank error is going to mess this one up, now I need to call all of the merchants I wrote checks to and pay cash and give them 25.00 each for returned check charges Im going after the the bank for Lost time and Lost wages and fraud for 26 NSF fees and a fraudulent charge for $50,398.00 The sad thing is that large purchase was a $50.98 part for my snowmobile. |
