I have to ask (because I'm a mom) why do you have to spend the money at all? In three years you will probably be interested in driving so what if you called the money your "future car fund" and used it for that? Imagine if you saved that money along with $20.00 a month the type of used car you might be able to get on your 16th birthday!
In case you are like my daughter and the thought of keeping any money in the bank is just too crazy, use the money to pamper yourself. I know there is something you have always wanted but didn't think you should get something expensive for yourself. I say now is the time to GO FOR IT! Do you have a PSP? The prices have come down alot! Also there are ipods for all types. You can store that in your pocket when you move. |

You are young at just 12 years old and are probably not aware of the power of compounding. Save up your money and let it grow by earning some interest (in a bank account or other similar interest-earning accounts). $100 with a 5% interest per year will grow into $1146.74 in 50 years time (when you are 62 years old) - your $100 grew 11 times !!
So be smart from young and save as much as you can. Good luck. |
