You realize that 13,000 dollars is nothing now days right, so the best thing you could do with this money is invested in something that will make you more money, because buying a car goes so far. But if you buy a car at let said an auction at a low price and then sell it and make a profit that is even better, I'm not telling you to do this for life but this will increase you cash flow and once you have more money you could do bigger investments which will give you higher returns. Just look at your interest and see on how you could invest your money to make more, but make sure you do your reseach before you do it......Good luck and make your money work for you.... I'm trying to do the same but don't have enough to start save up to get something going...... |

Well, I'm 19 with a family and in the upper poverty-lower middle class fianancial level..I'd really just buy food, and maybe a $5,000 car and rent a nice sized house..Whatever's left I'd put towards my child's college fund. |

i would check the rates at the bank and invest it in the best rate available. or i would contact a financial advisor and invest it in a mutual fund of some sort. or if you really want to do something with it i will be happy to take it off of your hands...lol |

how long do you have to let the investment sit?
if you are old, you should buy money market fund.
if you are young a mixed bag of dow stocks, and reinvest the dividends over 30-40 years and you are very rich.
