When you open a bank account, whether checking or savings, they give you a debit card. It only allows you to use whatever funds are available in your account. But good news is, you can still use it like a credit card to order stuff online. |

hm.. depends on the bank.
and at your age, many banks will want an adult to go on the account with you. If an adult goes on the account with you, then you could definitely get a card to use at the ATM (it would probably have the adults name on it, so you couldn't use it in stores).

I'd say you aren't old enough for a credit card, but you can get one of the ones where you have a monthly limit and your parents fill it whenever you need money.
Otherwise, if you would like to save, open a savings account and a checking one, that way you can get money out when you want it and be able to save some at the same time. I was pretty young when I first got mine. |

In some countries , below 18 yo, can open the bank account and have the ATM - the name is Junior saving.
But some countries also not allow for below 18 yo, and The bank account must be has 2 name - your parent name & your name if you want to have bank account. |

My son who is 13 has a savings account with a debit card./ATM card. Just be careful with it because you can really go crazy and deplete your money in the bank. |

Just like your bank account- you're parent will have to sign with you. As a minor you can have your own accounts but there has to be an adult on there with you. |

It really depends on the bank. One bank in my area wouldn't give me a debit card when I was 13, but I went to another bank in my area, and they gave me one that I could use.
To really figure out if you can get one, you'll have to contact your local banks and ask about their debit program.

Absolutely NO. but you can have the ATM card to access your account such as to deposit or withdraw.
*to be enable to get a credit card, a person must be of legal age and is employed. otherwise, even if he is of legal age and not employed, he/she cannot have a debit card. (common sense, how could he/she be able to pay if this person has no job). |

I could only get a Debit Card once I turned 18. You can open a savings account though. But I think it all depends on what bank you go tooo. They might have different restrictions. |

yes wells fargo is probably the only bank to offer it, i have one you can get it with them at age 13 its called a teen checking account and its amazing, i have checks and a debit card and you have to have a parent and you social security card with you and an id, and $100 to put in the bank to open the account ...its free and ur mom or dad basically gives you a hundred dollars to start it off...its a good investment because i put my money in the bank as soon as i get it, because im the type of person who spends money of its in their pocket, if i dont see it i forget about it and save it in the bank
parents can set a spending limit and has total acess to the account....2 cards come in the mail one for u and one for the parent....there is no credit card on it so your child wont become in debt even though if you want to sign for your purchase you can choose credit even though it comes out of your checking account...and the panflits explain more |

Whoa! Back up there! Don't go diving into the adult world, I can promise you that at your young age (yes, I know you've almost reached the point of knowing better than everyone else), and with such a strong attitude, you'll end up messing up your life! NOW... if you don't have an attitude, like I think I detect in your question, and you simply want a nice little savings account, then go for it. You'll need your parents okay. I guess I'm just surprised to hear you talk about an account and a debit card over the internet. This is a simple issue to just talk to parents about. |

you should be able to get an ATM card, but not the kind w/ the visa or mastercard logo on it. you have to be 18 for those. |

Yes!!! I'm 11 and I made a teen bank account. I just made it like 2 days ago. And they said "you will get your debit card in the mail in a few days" So if i'm 11 and i'm getting a debit card, then im sure u will at 15. but i dont wanna use it cuz then ppl will ask me if it's my parents, and they will say no cuz maybe they think im stealing someones card. i cant believe they let me make an account at 11 years old, im not even a teen, but they just want money. |
