Pay off credit card balance or make separate payments?
I have the full amount to pay off my high-interest credit card. Should I pay it off completely or spread it out into weekly payments for a month?
Additional Details
I guess each time I make a payment I earn points on my credit score...is that correct? I was going to make a weekly payment within 1 month anyways.

Pay them off as fast as you can u are paying not only then rate they gave you but the prime rate. and if you cashed advanced then you have even an higher interest rate !!!! why loose money to interest ? the best thing to do is buy something that you know you can pay off that month and then do pay it that builds your credit so then being able to buy a car or House later will be easier for they will see that great credit score! and believe me i have been in the game of credit cards its not fun and also used to work at a bank people get stuck so be wise and really read that small print its small for a reason they dont want you to see it!

Pay it off in full. If you spread it out you will accumulate more interest thus having more to pay in the end.

CupCake
Pay it off now....you will end up paying more in interest if you pay it off weekly than you will ever earn keeping the money in the bank.

Good Luck!

bubble
Pay it all off. Why would you want to pay interest on a high interest credit card? Unless you can get interest from a saving/CD that's with a higher interest rate than the credit card, you are losing money.

Mari
PAY IT OFF! Hello HIGH INTEREST! Dont give those bastards more money if you dont need to.

Mr_Blue
Pay it off now and it is not worth waiting a month.

kelly
why do you want to throw away your hard earn money pay it off asap!

I would just pay it off so that you don't accrue interest on the remaining balance each week.

Goonhilda
The longer you have money owing on the card, the more interest it will accrue, and the more you will have to pay back. So pay it off immediately.

Unless you can get a fixed interest investment at a rate 20% higher than the rate you are paying on the card (because interest paid to you from an investment is taxable income and you'll have to pay tax on it) you should pay the card off as soon as possible. Spreading out the payments will only mean you need to pay more. Why would you want to pay more? You don't owe the bank any favours.

JB
Get rid of it. Every day you delay is more interest you pay. Pay it off then close it.
