Please anyone help me with some ideas and info ... I'm struggling..?
Hi everyone, Hope you all are having a good day , because Mine could not have been worse. I have been in a little financial dilemma, but since I didn't have that long of a credit history (B credit score but report opened in March), couldn't get approved with a few banks, so I wounded up on this website http://www.easyloanfinancial.net and Invested the last 1400$ dollars I had in hopes of receiving a debt consolidation loan, Call me a moron, gullable, I didn't think whatever you wanna name it. Now My rent money is gone, and I'm in a bit of debt and me and my baby wife are just sitting here, pretty much given any hope, I have filed reports with the BBB, and Opp and bla bla maybe I'll hear back in a year. But for now I need suggestions ideas anything. I am so angry and depressed at the moment that tears are running down my eyes as I'm typing this. My wife and I just got married about 6 months ago, and had hopes, but we have almost lost them..
Thank you for your interest
Sincerely
O.K.

1) First call all of the debtors you owe money to and explain the situation. If the person at the other end gives you guff ask to a manager. Let them know that they will get what you owe them but it will take some time, tell them that you are attempting to avoid filing bankruptcy and would appreciate their assistance. All credit card companies and consumer lenders will work with you, they do not want you declaring bankruptcy because they are last in line to get paid.

2) Your most important bills are your rent and car payments. If you can, refinance your car, stretch out the payments as long as possible; this also gives you about 45 days before you have to make your next payment. If your car is paid for or has been paid down, you can refinance to your limit and get some cash back, hopefully enough to take care of the rent.

3)Eliminate all non-necessities, i.e. cable tv, internet, etc., go down to just a home phone or a cell phone.

4) If you are working go to the HR Manager and file 99 as your exemptions. This will eliminate any Fed and State withholding. Don't worry about the taxes right now.

5) Eliminate anything coming out of your paycheck besides health insurance and see if you have a profit sharing or 401(k) that the company has contributed to that you can take a loan on or cash out.

6)Find a CFP who can help you, most will work for free if they are associated with an insurance company. Look for one that offers car insurance, they will be more than happy to help you if they can get your cars when your crisis is over.

7) In a worst case scenario file bankruptcy, it will eliminate most of the consumer debt, stop the phone calls and give you some time to get back on your feet.

If you have a job this can be worked out, if you are not employed look hard at No. 7.

im so very sorry for ur position. first thing u do is call ur landlord and explain circumstances, be very honest so that he can try to understand. he might let u pay a little extra every month until u catch up. second, call afdc or welfare office and see if u can get an appointment to apply for financial assistance and food stamps. third, call the ftc and tell them that u were scammed by these people (877-987-3728) give them as many details as possible. dont forget to call one of the 3 major credit reports (equifax 800-525-6285, experian 888-397-3742, transunion 800-680-7289) so that they can put a watch on ur credit in case of identity theft. (if u report to 1 then they report to the other 2). now most of this will not help ur current situation, so go to ur church and ask for a little help w/ food and they either will help u themselves and/or direct u to some other agencies in ur area that can help. for the record i was scammed recently so as awful as it is....please do not feel alone. i wish u all the best and if i can be of anymore help please feel free to e-mail me @ royalwitch70@yahoo.com (subject: scam)

jmkid04, I don't mean to be negative to you, but please, DO NOT sign up for the survey thing. It is a BIG rip off and scam. I signed up and everything they said was just legalese so they wouldn't get sued. I finally got my money back, but am still getting 50 - 60 emails per day from these "survey" companies. You take their survey, then you have to go down a list of products and pick two before you get anything from them. SO it ends up costing you MORE money. TOTAL RIPOFF!!

Hon, I don't know what to tell you right now. Call your landlord or whomever you owe money to and explain the situation. Then on Monday, call AFDC and see if they can give you a little help until your work check comes in. You DO have a baby and are entitled to WIC and food stamps and medical care if your income meets certain guidelines. Swallow your pride and DO IT!! I have, and it really helped me get through a rough time. Then, when I was back on my feet, I helped someone else who needed it and I didn't feel at all guilty about using AFDC anymore.

Please, don't let your family suffer and get on down to your local AFDC office. You won't regret it. And NEVER give up hope. Hang on to your wife and baby and let them know it will be okay. If you three stick together, you can move mountains!!

AHaK!! (Angel Hugs and Kisses) to you and your family!!

Sorry, I misread...even if you don't have a baby, you are still entitled to AFDC help if you are financially strapped. Keep your chin up and hold on tight.!!

O.k. First calm down. Things normally are not as bad as they seem. I assume you don't make much money so you will qualify for certain things. First thing monday morning call these following places:
Call the American Red Cross because they can help you with utility bills and maybe even rent.
Call the Salvation Army because sometimes they have funds to help people with rent or maybe can refer you to some one who can.
Call you local city hall and ask for the housing department. Depending on funds they also help people with rent.
I know this is embarrassing, but we all have hit hard times and you have to do what you have to do and swallow your pride some times. If you can't pay your bills then you just can't pay them. I don't know what kind of debt you have, but I have a feeling it must be credit cards. I would recommend calling a debt consolidation / bankruptcy attorney. (NOT A DEBT COUNSELOR).
Everything happens for a reason and you just got to learn from your mistakes. Don't worry about keeping up with other people because they might seem to have it all, but be worst off then you. Use this as an opportunity to manage money, live within your means, and save. Suzi Orman has lots of great advise maybe you can watch her show and read her books.
I have been worse off then you are now. Things get better. Just take very small steady steps and things will start to come together. It takes time so you have to take each day one day at a time. Just worry about what you can presently control and don't worry about the rest.

Are you in America?

There are plenty of government programs that will give you money.

Especially if you have a baby, or are pregnant.
If you don't have a kid, get wifey pregnant immediately.
Hey, it's only temporary, right?

a) most definitely do not get pregnant! that would be a unwise decision. the government may help you out a little more, but it won't balance out all the stress and even more financial burdens you'll have. if i'm not mistaken, a baby will cost you 10-12 grand a year!

b) i'm really sorry you got into this situation. trust me. i've been there myself. took my family over a year to get back on track. are there any family members or trusted friends you could lean on to relieve you of some of the burden? i know it's hard to ask, but it doesn't hurt to try.

c) if you're religious, pray. everything will work itself out the end. things happen for a reason. but now that you've taken this route, you'll know how to handle it next time.

d) once you get out of this mess. this will probably be the most pertinent information for you. use 10-20-70 budget plan.
10% - savings (should = 3 mos. income)
20% - spending (have fun with it!)
70% - living expenses (mortgage, insurance, car loans, phone, groceries, credit cards, etc.)

best of luck to you.
