It would more than likely show up now that its been deposited in your account but it wouldnt clear until around tuesday. It normally takes 4 working days. |

SEVEN DAYS!!!! Although the bank will tell you that...tut, tut silly you, it is actually only 5 working days, completely ignoring the fact that on the other 2 days you still have to buy things...like food. They keep your cheque so that they can accrue the interest on YOUR money - multiply your money by the av no. of customers a bank will have and you get the picture - in Europe it takes 4 hours.
Why is it that we get the downside from Europe - like having our artificially straightened bananas weighed in kilos - but not the upside like 4 hour cheque clearing. |

it depends if the check is to you from you, Example if you have two different banks and wrote a check on one and deposited in the other, if thats what you did and assuming both banks are local it will take 2 days if not local 5 days. At the time of the deposit they should of told you how long it would take the funds to clear and they should of released a 100 dollars of it to you . If they did not tell you there would be a "hold" or a "clearing time" then the funds should be available at 9:00 on the next business day. |

I always thought that if I paid cash into my own bank account using the ATM, that it would be available immediatly or the latest the following say.
No chance, 3 days they need to get the cash out and count it and sort out whatever, so I now enjoy waiting in line and handing the cash over the counter, they usually ask me "Do you know you can pay this into the ATM sir"?? "It cuts down our line of people waiting"!!
I take a lot of pleasure telling them that my waiting time to have my own money available is 3 days. |
