Part time job? More income.

Do you have any other assets you could sell to raise more money? Other solutions include getting a part time job. Practice better spending habits. Cancel your cell phone if possible. Cancel any subcription services you may have. Talk to the TV people and move to the lowest cost plan they have. Cut expenses any way you can. If you are paying interest on credit try to borrow money interest free from a relative.

The way I see it is that Sky TV is a luxury - can you cancel it? Ask the companies you owe if they can let you pay it off in small amounts. Do you have anyone who could loan you money? It isnt the best way to go about it but after my boyfriends identity was stolen and I had to help him out with cash my paren ts have lent me money as long as I pay back eventually - there is always a way around it! Also try to write down every penny that you spend - that way you can see what you could cut down on.

To be honest, Debt management companies won't even look at you for that amount. Basically anything much less than £5,000 and you have to sort it out yourself with the people you owe.

If you owe £5,000 - £15,000 you can go onto what is called a Debt Management Plan. This is a structured way of repaying your debt, but generally means that no more interest will be added on.

If you owe MORE than £15,000, then you can go onto an IVA (Individual Voluntary Agreement) (assuming it gets agreed by your creditors). This can reduce your debts by *up to* 75%. ie. not always 75%, and certainly not the 90% that some people advertise. An IVA lasts for 5 years and should leave you with your debts cleared.

There is also another thing coming soon, a "Simplified IVA" which will do the same as an IVA, but less restrictions and starting at smaller debt levels.

Hi there must be lots of people who are in more debt than you so first stop worrying and try to get your problem sorted out. First. Go to the citizens advice bureau they help to sort out debt problems for free? and will ask you what you have coming in each week and then to list your out-goings. They will ask how much you can pay each week of your debt and telephone the people you owe money to and ask if they will except a certain amount of you each week.
Good luck
Tina

Contact both companies that you owe the money to and ask if you can arrange to pay them back in smaller amounts. £320 isnt a lot of money to these companies so as long as you are paying them back something they will agree.

not meaning be funny but £320 is hardly a big debt is it, people have far worse debts than that. Call your creditors and explain to them you are having trouble paying and they will try to arrange a plan for you.

Anyone know?

Sorry but this really is not a bad debt. People out there owe thousands on credit cards and with loan companies. Sky though would be the first thing I cancelled it's not exactly a necessity and presumably if you're in full time work your bank would be able to come up with some solutions for you. You need to reassess where your money goes, sorry.

Stop trying to spend more money than you earn. Yes we would all like to live in a 8 bedroom big detached house with an acre of land and a £90,000 Ferrari stood on the drive.
