I'm not sure that there's anything you can do since you didn't follow eBay's rules. Someone ELSE could have won the item by bidding higher, and then you'd have cheated that person out of the item because it was already gone. Going outside eBay's plan puts you in a bad position with eBay, and they can't help you, and you have less recourse also as a result.
You can contact the following people to see if any of them can help you:
1) your local police (talk to a robbery detective)
2) the FTC (contact them online) |

You are stuck on this one. You went outside the guidelines of Ebay, and unfortunately you have encountered a dishonest person. |

I think what you did was very stupid. I don't know a lot about ebay. I guess you could try to take her to small claims court. I also think it's kind of crappy to put something up for auction and then sell it off the side. Morally, I don't think you're entitled to much, but legally, I suppose you should get what she offered, if you can find her & prove your case. Good luck. |

Why on earth would you ship something to a stranger without getting payment first? Did you know that transactions outside of ebay are against policy? You were not scammed by ebay OR on ebay, you were scammed by a thief and the only thing you can do is contact the police in her town. |

You've pretty much been had, but if the phone number is real, you could call information to possibly get a real address.
If I were you, I would call the cops where she lives. If they can get her real address, they could possibly pursue her for stolen property. If you were really intent, you could go to the post office and wait for her. |

unfortunately you have fallen prey to what ebay warns not to do. stick with the program on future sales and hopefully a relatively inexpensive lesson learned. |

Sorry - you've been had and there's not really anything you can do about it |

There is nothing you can do. You have been scammed. You can report it as fraud to the police. If you have her phone number and information. It is possible they may lay charges because if she has done it to you she has done it to others.
Call them and ask them if there is anything that can be done.
Never, send anything with the promise of payment later. You are too nice and business is business. |

mark it up to a lesson learned that you never ship anything without having it paid for 1st. |

Oh wow!
There is really nothing you can do. With out the contract being fulfilled your basically handed merchandise over to someone before getting the money in your hand. And by law there is really nothing you can do. It was unethical of her yes but you willfully gave it over.
Sorry to hear about that! eBay is full of scammers don't ever trust anyone. When selling always get payment in hand before sending and always get a signature required on the package when you send it. |

Unfortunatley for you, there is NOTHING you can do. Just chalk this one up to experience, cut your losses and move on |
