It should not be a problem at most places. Retailers are more than happy to take your money. Especially this time of year. However, there are a few places that I have been that will not accept anything lager than a $50. Probably because they have been burned before or don't want to give up a bunch of smaller bills just to make change. I tend to never carry anything larger than a $20 anyway, so no issues here. |

don't be freaked out...i had to do this a couple of weeks ago at a quick stop (gas station that sells food and candy etc.) i was nervous at first but when i handed it too her with a laugh and expected her to question she just stared kept the same blank stare and took it and gave me my change of like 96 bucks hahah its cool just do it |

It is a very common bill and if you act like it is not a big deal, then it won't be. Actually, there a probably a lot of people your age making that and it is more common place. If you get ahead of the curve then you won't feel awkward. It is like the kid that gets a house before he is 21. It will make you more mature.
If it feels weird, break it at a bank and get 5 $20 bills instead. |

Do not be scared as long a you are spending more than ten dollars cashiers will be more than happy have to have your service. =) Besides there is no age limit on how much money you can spend. |

Take the bill back to the bank and get it changed to 5 $20 bills. In the area I live in, there is currently a very good counterfeiting ring ... so good that even the banks don't catch all of the 'bad bills' and they can pass them out, too. Banks must take back the larger bills they gave you in the first place, though. Nobody will look oddly at anyone who is carrying a larger stack of $20 bills, even when paying over $1000 in cash. Not these days, with counterfeiting as bad as it is, with the 'nearly perfect' larger bills being passed. |

If your that scared to use it, just trade it to the bank for 10 10s, or even easier, go to a family member and ask to trade |

You will get strange looks, and they will probably check to make sure it's authentic, but don't worry about it they do that for everyone.
If you want to get smaller bills (perfectly understandable, some places don't take anything larger than $20s) just go to any bank and ask to exchange the 100 for anything you want. |
