open a roth IRA. Put in $50/mo if that's all you can afford. Work, save find a good paying job. There are good paying jobs out there that don't require a degree. They just may require hard work and dedication.

Building wealth to millions is a marathon not a race. Most millionaires are first generation that spent decades getting there.

I agree with others. Go to Dave Ramsey's website and listen to show archives when you have free time. You'll learn and understand it all then.

read the book "The Total Money Makeover" by dave ramsey. It is not a get rich quick scheme. it involves a lot of hard-work, sacrifice and time. But it is well worth it. I wish I had read it at 18 instead of 31

work multiple jobs or one really well paid one. Have no credit card debt, no loans and pay everything wish cash. Save atleast 15% of your income per month in an IRA and watch your money grow. Don't use your saved investment for anything other than to retire. Make a budget, stick to it. Live on a minimal amount of money so you can live like you want when you have the money to actually do it. Takes hard work and determination.

Something to keep in mind is the majority of wealthy people in this country do not have high incomes. They are frugal and save a lot and spend a little. That is as simple of an answer as you need.

Another thought, how many people pay over a 100 dollars a month in something as silly as cable TV??? that 100 dollars a month put into a ROTH IRA from 30 to 70 making an average return of 12% (not hard to do) you would have over 1 million dollars. This means you put in 47K and you get out 1 million. It is that easy.

Something else is there is an inverse relation between good credit and being very wealthy. Having no credit and being wealthy is much more likely.

It can be done. You need to learn about personal finance. Start with the book "Personal Finance for Dummies". Do not let the dummies name fool you. It is a pretty comprehensive book for the basics. You need to learn about budgets, credit, investing, retirement, saving, and a bunch of other things. From there move on to other books about personal finance. Also, look for articles online or in magazines or newspapers. Here is a link to an archive of personal finance articles:
http://www.bankrate.com/brm/news/Archive.html
There are thousands of articles in there and it does not cost you a thing to read them. Search thru them and read what you find interesting or seems to apply to you.

On selecting books to read, avoid the instant rich type books. There are a ton of books out there talking about how you can become super rich in no time using their patented techniques. However, the only people getting rich from those books are the people selling them. Stick with basics about investing and personal finance. Even with the basic ones you still need to try to see past the male bovine fecal matter.

As for your current situation, I recommend getting all of your debt payed off as soon as possible. If it takes 5 years then take 5 years to do it. Take an extra job if you have to. Get your finances stable. Once again, learn about personal finance and learn how credit can ruin your chances of building up some wealth. It can help build wealth but you have to master it.

You should also analyze how you are spending your money. It is amazing how much money we waste. I went thru my budget over a year ago and eliminated hundreds of dollars of junk from my monthly budget. I can still eliminate more if I want to get draconian about it. Figure out what you need and what you do not and figure how much money extra you could have if you got rid of a few services or stopped doing a couple of things a month.

The classic example is the Starbucks coffee. You may not even drink Starbucks or even drink coffee but there are many who do. Lets say you buy coffee and a muffin while going to work each day and spend $6. You go to work 5 days a week. Assuming you might have some holidays, sick days, or vacation time, lets say that you work 48 weeks a year. That is $1,440 a year you are spending on coffee and muffins. That can knock down some debt. Over 10 years with, oh lets say 8% interest, that would mean you could save over $20,000. If you factor in how much you would save by not paying interest on credit cards then that number goes even higher. Of course, this example may not apply to you but I bet there are some things that you could reduce or eliminate. You don't have to give stuff up either. Just find a cheaper way to do it.

The best route to a high individual income --for most people who lack advanced professional degrees and/or do not own their own businesses-- is to learn how to sell, and then sell as many items as possible at the highest price possible for the highest commission rate as possible. Selling automobiles is a great place to start as this requires no special certification as with insurance, stocks, etc.

The best way to become a millionaire is to implement an aggressive investment plan and stick with it until you've reached your goal.

Start your own business. "If you want wealth be a business owner; if you want to live week to week, get a job."
No credit... get investors... although you will have to have a great business plan and some persuading to get someone to put faith in your concepts!

Seriously.

Concentrate on paying off any money that you owe to creditors. Do not purchase any items that you do not absolutely need. Go out for entertainment on rare occasion (once or twice a month), and be frugal when you do.

After your creditors are payed off budget yourself to live on only 75% of your takehome pay (that's the money that you take home AFTER taxes).

Take the remaining 25% of your paycheck and deposit it into a savings account, where you will not touch it. EVER!!

When you get enough money, open up a money market or some other account that earns a greater amount of interest. Maybe purchase some US bonds or something as well. Keep saving, and spend less and less of your take home pay, and save more and more.

Invest in a retirement account (like an Individual or Roth retirement account. Available through almost any bank.)

By the time you are ready to retire, you will be wealthy.

If you want to be a millionaire sooner... good luck. The only way to do it is to get an education and a job that pays greatly, thusly allowing you to SAVE even more, becoming richer more quickly.

Don't bank on winning the lottery. You will get richer quicker by my original method.

sacrifice...... I've heard of people selling everything they own (including the computer you are working on), moving into a shelter and having their only expense be a PO Box (employers need an address). Now a minimum wage job means a lot more. Imagine earing $1000 a month and you only expense is $20 for a PO Box ans $5 for a case of ramen noodles......... If you have a car, use that instead of a shelter.....

I have spent countless days locating real, legitimate work at home programs. I've sent email to the web site owners, and used their members area. I've done an extensive background check each company. My results were shocking! Out of all the work at home opportunities I reviewed I only found 1 honest, legitimate program! This company charge a one time fee of $67-75 and provide dedicated representatives, and their phone number to help you every day. All you pay is $67 one time for access to his members area. The phone number is printed right on the page, along with his real address. This is only going to be $67 for a limited time though.

My favorite choice have a 100% money back guarantee for 8 full weeks. This company have a good reputation and live up to that guarantee. You can try out their members areas for 8 weeks and if you don't like the results they will refund your money.

Look at my favorite pick , and decide for yourself. The Internet is a $ Billion a year industry, get out there and MAKE MONEY!!!!
