You should get a second job. Your earnings:debt ratio is pretty skewed. A new car (and please get a used one) will add to that. The more you get ahead of debt now the more money you will have in the future. What you save in the next ten years is worth more than what you will save in all of the years after 8 - it is the magic of compounding. So, if you can, get another job and put all of the money into paying down debt, then into savings once your debt is zero.

you should probably look in to getting a second job try and cut down low on the extras like phone computer cable less food you could afford a car a cheep one but i don't know if it will be the best choose to get one pay off all your debits first then getting one if you live in a big town and they have a subway or a tram then using one of thoes will and may be better. or if you even bet a jod close enough to your house you could maybe even ride a bike or walk. best of luck with your finanatial troubles it will be a ruff timebut it could onlyt get better |

No, I wouldn't get a second job just because your in school and that's way more important, but you can if you have to get a second job then do it.
oh and save up for a good down payment on the car, the more you put down the lower your car payment will be.
Pay some of your bills off. Can you still get around with out a car?
You could get a loan if you have good credit and consolidate all your bills into one, or you can just get a loan for a car, or don't get one, I'm not sure though...I'd talk to a banker they can tell you everything...go to the bank....

Do you have a 401k plan? If you don't seriously look into getting one. If you do, you should have the ability to give yourself a loan of up to half of what is in there without incuring any "real" penalties. You'll have an additional ammount taken out of your paychecks, but remember you're paying yourself back and you're doing it with intrest, so it is truly in your best intrest to make use of this function of the 401k. Many people use this function to make a down payment on a first home, but in a financial emergency (like this sounds), it is still viable. In my experience, they didn't ask what I was going to use the money for they just gave me the loan.
If this is an option for you, check with your employer on who to contact regarding your 401k information.
If this is not an option for you, you might consider using public transportation (get a bus/subway/rail pass). With the rising costs of gasoline you might be able to save money until you can buy a car using this method (especially since you won't have a car insurance payment either). I understand some jobs require a lot of driving around and this may not be an option for you.

thats really not that much debt....and as long have u have been paying on your credit cards and student loans every single month on time i would think that you could easily get a car loan for a few thousand dollars....with maybe like a 200-300 car payment.... |
