I was eating spaghetti outside and my neighboor just threw a pile of grass in my food, i didnt do anything she just did it cause her sister pretended to do it as a joke, she knew it was but did it anyway, while i was still eating. So i did what any person would do and gave her back her grass with some spaghetti on her shirt. she tells my mom and my mom said i would have to pay for a new shirt if a stain came. So the girl rubs it on her shirt and doesnt even bother to change it to wash it to try to get the stain out. So i asked her why she didnt and she said " because i want your money." so she comes back later and says the stain didnt come out and i have to give her my money. i told my mom that and she said you should of thought of that before you threw the spaghetti. i was like she said she wanted my money and smeared it all over her. so Should i have to Pay?

No.... you didn't do "what any person would do" by throwing it on her. You did what you wanted to do. However, your actions have consequences.
Should she have thrown grass in your food? No.
Could you have gotten up....gone inside and fixed yourself a new plate and explained to your mother what happened? Yes.
But, you chose to act in a foolish manner and damage her property.
Your mother is correct....You should have thought about the possible consequences of your actions before you threw the plate of food on her and ruined her property. And odds are....that stain would not have come out - your mother knew that.
Another way to have handled it would be to tell the girl you are sorry for throwing the food on her shirt and you offer to wash it for her or give her money for dry cleaning. You damaged her property and expected her to fix it. Well,.....she fixed it all right.
Was the girl in the wrong? yes. She needs to find better ways of flirting with you.
In the mean time, man up to your responsibility. You damaged her property and you get to make it right.

Tell her you can get the stain out of the shirt. Go out and buy a bottle of glycerine from the chemist or supermarket, in the toiletries aisle. Then pour the glycerine on the shirt, and let it seep into the fabric. Wait twenty minutes and then launder. The stain should come out. Then you won't have to pay for the shirt. |

I say no! ask her for proof, snatch the shirt from her and shred it. tell your mom that she is lying about the stain not coming off. tell your mom to ask her for proof that the stain didn't come off. and if she tells your mom that you shredded it, tell your mom that she's lying! that you wouldn't do such a horrible thing. act surprise and amazed that she could come up with such lies!
either that, or ask her out on a date. i think she likes you. :) |

tricky cercumastances. Unfortunately, theare are always two sides to a story. I wouldnt thing you would have to pay, but a court might...i dont know. You could always make her pay for your Spagetti. Remember, that plate of spagetti probably cost you about $32 Dollars, your time for having tp pick out the grass, and of course pain and suffering for having gotten sick after eating some left overe grass. |
