i think you should pay for her sometimes. i mean its nice to have you boyfriend pay for you when you go out. but i dont think you need to pay for her all the time. tell her straight up that you dont have the money to pay for her all the time and that sometime she needs to pay for her own crap. |

It's one thing for me to "treat" out of the goodness of my heart. Yes, I enjoy the fact I can do it when I do.
However, it would be ANOTHER matter for anyone to attempt to obligate me to do so.
Do NOT pay for her unless you feel really GOOD about doing so. You'd be wise to let her know in advance when you can't do so. If she can't/won't deal with that reasonably, then the two of you should consider moving on. |

A couple questions, does she pay any rent or is it all on you? You say "when we go out, she makes me pay...", is that every time, 100%
If she is not helping with the rent and always expects you to pay for meals, kick her out on her A$$ right away. If she pays part of the rent and doesn't always expect you to pay for meals then stop complaining. Taking the girl out on a date periodically will make her feel more like your girlfriend and less like a roommate. Try to explain to her that money is tight for you and you won't be able to take her out as often as you'd like. Economize in other areas, eat in more, make a date of going to the market to get food to prepare together at home. Make her feel special. |

There are some realities of "playing house" that you may not be aware. One of this is that generally speaking, there is the implied logic that the male will take care of the female if she cohabits with him. The bulk of the expenses will always be borne by the male. If everything were equal, why then would she shack in with you? Just because of Love? I am saying this on the assumption that she is also a student. It will be an entirely different story if she is working. If you feel she is a burden, then let her go. |
