Should i get a job?
Would you work a 9 till 5 shift if by the end of the week you would only be £100 quid better off. I have had a benefit calculation at the jobcentre and this is what they told me.

No, working sucks, dude, and the ONLY benefits you get from going to work and earning your money are that you value the money more, save some, spend it more wisely, invest some of it, get to drive a nicer car, live in a nicer home, date a classier partner, develop a little genuine personal pride that you are not a sponger, and have a happier life; other than that, working is pointless.

PS...If NOTHING else changed, you started of with a single pound, and you invested half the extra money each week (£50) in a really average mutual fund that earned you only 9% a year on average, after a year you'd have £2,809, after five years you'd have £16,474, after ten years £40,681, and after thirty-five years you'd have a little over half-a-million. But that's only if you were too lazy to ever "move up"...

And people wonder why the British are so glum...

yes but if you work you will gain work experiences that are vital to getting a better job later and when you apply for jobs you can tell them that you are looking for something better. otherwise if you stay on benefits it will be harder to get a job in the long term

dennis
yes get a job you lazy tw*t...

education is the key to a good paying job,and no matter where you go every one starts at the bottom, except the boss,s son.

Yes I would if the alternative was to be homeless and destitute. I'd also get a second job so I could make enough to afford rent and food, and I'd work weekends. And I'd always be on the lookout for better jobs, or for a better position that pays more and work my way up until I only needed to work one job to afford my life.

Goonhilda
First of all, starting at a job means you mix with other people, all of whom might be able to give you the opportunity to move onto a better paid job. Secondly, it's experience, which makes it easier to get a better paid job. Thirdly, that hundred quid a week is 5 grand by the end of the year if you save it. You can also apply for a homeloan if you're working, but not if you're just getting social security payments. So take the job and get the other benefits.

ray c
hay you`ll have £100 in your hand at the end of week cool

Get a job, layabout.

£100 a week is £400 a month or £4,800 a year - sounds good to me!

I would like to think that if you are capable of working and decided not to take the job that somehow your benefits might be adversely affected....

rugratshd
yes, keep working - big difference and chance for better pay later

curt01gte
errm yeah dude more for the social aspect,,,plus having £100 spare is quite alot

of course you should, dont just think about money, your get more experience and it will look good when your applying for your next job, itz alot better working, than just living of jobseekers alowence and income support not that im saying you do but you get my drift

Wamibo
Of course not. We who slave over 60 hours a week on pittance wage are overjoyed and delighted to have to pay income tax to help finance your benefit payments, so that you can enjoy such a cushy life at all our expense.

Rob k
Yes !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

respect yourself !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

plus you will have more money , might only be £100 as you put it , but a £100 is a lot if you don't have any

David V
yes you should unless you enjoy being a sponger. In fact you should be forced to take the job earn some respect and become a useful contributor to society
