I think no. I earn quite a bit and have been in the same dilemma as you before. If I tell people how much I earn I normally end up making excuses, putting myself down or going on about how many bills I have to pay etc so that they don't feel envious. I've learnt it's best to just say that you're ok, or make a joke and say so much you don't know! |

First off, it's rude to ask someone how much they make. 2ndly, it's really up to you if you tell them. I'd just say, 'I'm doing well and expect to do better soon.' |

Its quite impolite to ask what people earn.
If they do ask then just say 'enough' and dont let them wear you down. |

Bit nosey - I personally wouldn't want to tell my best friend as I earn a lot more than her. How much money you earn doesn't make you a better or worse person. I like people for themselves, not how much money they have in their bank account! |

i avoid the subject except my roomate and closest friends know- i never tell women...they wouldnt like that i earn so little but i like my job so i dont really care as much about the money |

My employees used to ask. I always responded $5.15 an hour. They knew I was lying but, at the time I was barely making twice that.
Sometimes a sarcastic response is better than one where you flat out refuse to tell them. |

This is entirly up to you! if you dont mind people knowing thats fine, but if you do tell them and don't want anyone else knowing make sure you can trust them!
And as far as you earning big money they will only envy you! |
