Marrying 'up' never makes one rich. It might make you comfy while being together, but if there's a divorce in the future, you basically just had yourself a luxury vacation. Odds are if he/she's rich, you've signed quite the hefty prenup. And even if the relationship works, you're still not the rich one, he/she is. You're just along for the ride.
People put too much value in money/earnings and not enough into themselves and/or their relationship. |

Marrying up can be helpful, but if you do it only for the wealth and not for love, you'll be sorry. Wealth does not equal happiness. It can help, but it is not the main ingredient. |

I think that this is called "whoring" or "gold-digging"
Take it from somebody who is HAPPILY married -- being married to somebody you love with all of your heart, who treats you well, and you almost never fight with is still very, very, very hard!!! Marriage is not easy even under ideal circumstances.
If you marry somebody for money, you will likely find scenarios like the above. I.E. it is FAMILY money controlled by a parent or elder and the money is used as a control mechanism. This can make life for your seemingly "rich" spouse very hard, which in turn will be a cause for stress for you.
If you marry somebody self made, or who controls the money, purely because they have it, who's to say you won't be marrying a self-centered, ego crazed lunatic?
Assuming you are female, you should really drop the Prince Charming fantasy that has probably been pounded into your head since age 3. The chance that you, or anybody you ever know in your entire life, are going to marry somebody who is rich, handsome, funny, smart, considerate, etc., etc., etc., is slim to none. |

There are many single multimillionaires but, in general, they are only interested in other single multimillionaires.
Several companies offer courses on how to find and socialize with them (what you do from there is up to you). Be aware, however, these courses are not cheap and they are more work than college ever was. |

Haha! I would rather get rich on my own. You do not need another person to get rich for you. If you want money go for it! Invest,save and start a business.(Being thrifty helps) Most people are too lazy to make money on their own aren't they? If you spend wisely you may end up with money in the long run. Don't compare your self to some of those billionaires! Look downward and not above! Think of all of the people who have not achieved as much as you have. Realize that you can be just as happy if not happier than all of those wealthy men. Wealth does not simplify life at all! Good luck. |

I wouldn't suggest that it's the best way but it is certainly a pretty easy way....
although there may be a lot of BS you can't handle... I married into a very wealthy family.. but the father is a complete jerk and makes things difficult at times... my husband is bound to his current job in order to inherit his fathers money and he loves his job, but he just doesn't like that his dad tries to control him.....
anyway, things can get difficult and I think if my husband doesn't also bring in his own income and have some sorta independence then it wouldn't work...
it's a tough issue.. I didn't marry for the money, but it's certainly a nice perk. |
