Only if they have a job and only if they use their job money to make payments for any purchases.
Understand the base meaning of "credit" - you are borrowing against someone ELSE'S money and are going to have to pay back MORE than you spent. Sometimes a lot more.
Teens are probably better off getting better acquainted with money management first. We have one in the house with her first job. In three weeks her bank account was overdrawn and has 8 bounced checks to make up for before she even gets her next pay check. Lesson learned. |

Hunny, I gave my son a prepay card first and once he proved that he could be responsible , he got a regular one, and all things are working out good |

No....they need to learn the value of a dollar first. That's what's wrong with the US and why the debt ratio is so high. |

Maybe it's because i am one... but i think so... We're responsible... we just need limitations. or to be made to pay some part of the bill... it helps build responsibility. |

Under most circumstances, I would say no. If a teen is very responsible, has a stable job, plans on graduating H.S, then I wouldn't see why not. |

No, we shouldn't be teaching our youth that credit cards are ok. They AREN"T! This is half the problem with America today, we teach our youth it's ok to buy what we can't afford. I say no |

No!!!! UNLESSSSSSS, they work and are responsable. The credit card companies prey on teens and college students by giving them immediate credit without the consideration of IF the individual is responsable....most or Some will ruin there credit and thats a bad thing for a young person to start an adult life with bad credit looming over their head. |

No there is nothing that they need to buy that would require needing credit. If you give them credit cards when they can't handle the responsibility you are setting them for greater problems in the future when you are not there to bail them out. |
