well for one it would quickly go out of date: they'd cash in on their new celebrity, and use it to beat the line at the soup kitchen, get the best spots for begging, hang out in the green room with Mother Teresa, etc.! The poorest person would be the guy/gal with the least money and the most debt. Those people don't nessecarily boast about their situation, so even though the poorest person in the world exists somewhere (probably a homeless guy with a huge mafia debt) he'd an unknown and he'd be swimming with the fishes by the time the Forbes 500 magazine came out. |

It's a lot easier to measure something that exists (wealth) than someone that doesn't exist (the absence of wealth). Plus, how would you find that out anyways? |
