rhonda y | Theres a program for single moms where the goverenment payes rent, what is it called? |

It's called Section 8 Housing. Its not specifically for single moms. There is a waiting list but in some states its shorter than others. You usually need to apply through your local social services (social welfare) office. There are guidelines/criteria to be eligible for the program. Call them first, if it seems you might be eligible, they'll likely schedule an interview, or tell you the documents you'll need and where to bring them, in order to apply for Section 8. Remember to ask them about any other housing programs they know of, perhaps with Catholic Social Services, The Salvation Army etc. Lastly, If you have special circumstances (drug and alcohol, domestic violence, disabilities, veterans status) you might have other programs available to you. Good luck. |

They're different from state to state. I think that's always a state program. |

It's called "Section 8" housing. You can ask your rental agent about it and they'll direct you to the agency in your area to apply. Good Luck |

Go get a job, go get child support, go get more education, and stop looking for free stuff.
The correct answer is Section 8 which is welfare hopefully you do not not get any because I am tired of paying tax for lazy people that want free stuff. |
