It is neither bad nor good, as money is neither bad nor good. Money is neutral. It is what happens AFTER money comes into contact with a human that all of the good, OR trouble begins. Remember, it's "The LOVE of money that is the root of all evil" and not money itself. Money can be a very good thing if you save more than you spend, be a good steward of it by investing soundly, and by giving some back to your community. Look at people like Warren Buffet and Ted Turner who have build capital empires, but also do a tremendous abount of good in the world. But also look at these lottery winners who go broke about 6 years after they win because once they get the money they don't know how to use it.
My advice to you is to read some books about taking care of your money. Try Dave Ramsey's "Money Matter," Robert Kiyosaki's "Rich Dad, Poor Dad," and "The Millionaire Next Door" (can't remember the authors of the last one). They are a great place to start in getting your money in order. |

It must be bad because you have yourself in your wording defined it as "too much." Having a lot, billions even is not a problem, but having too much money (which could even be $1000) is a problem. |

Too much money isn't "bad" per se but it can be problematic and warp your mind so that you wind up not doing what you're really destined to do in life (because it takes away your motivation and distracts you). |

Depends on what you do with it. You have those Billionaires who go out and try to beat each other at spending........it doesn't help anyone but themselfs and their ego.
But if you are actually trying to make someone life better besides yourself, then all that money isn't a bad thing.
Hey, I'm a Paramedic and only make about 17grand a year. But with my skill I save lives, or bring comfort. So I wouldn't want another job just so I can make more. Though it be nice to get by a little better! |

I don't have any PERSONAL experience in this category, but I would guess that too much money is definately bad.. you can send your extra money to me!!! People with too much money often find themselves swamped by requests for money (hmmm... can I have a few hundred?.. thousand? a new car.. etc).. and if you look at the essentricities of some rich and famous people you can see what it leads to.. like the people that never walk on hotel carpeting that someone else has used (they pay for the carpeting to be replaced before they arrive for their 1 or 2 week stay.) |

I would say it depends on how one came to have money. If a person is born into money and knows nothing else, I would say it is generally a bad thing. These people have no clue about the value of anything and no respect for anything. In general they tend to be not very nice people in the eyes of regular people and they tend to treat other people with no respect and think they are better than everyone else. This is especially true in teenagers born into money. I have seen it first hand.
On the other hand people that have worked hard to make money it is a good thing, as they usually have a completely opposite set of values and morals as the people mentioned above. They usually understand what it is like to be on both sides of the track and therefor can appreciate things more and do have an understanding of the value of things. |

It is not whether too much money is bad or good, its how one have gotten that money. If a person hasn't earned the money and the money was given to them I believe that could be a bad thing. Its not so much the money but character of the person who possess it.
Earning something makes you appreciate the hard work it took to obtain it. This partly explain why some people who won the lottery go broke in a very short time. If you are fortunate to have been given a lot of money, then it would be wise for you to live awhile with the unfortunate who can't make ends meet, it will make you a better person in the long run. |

Depends on how you got the money. People who are born to money have no respect as a rule, for the money, or for anything else. They Jet around the world, thinking they are better than anyone else.
Then you have those people who worked hard all their life, have made their mark on society and amassed their money the old fashion way. Look at Bill Gates!!! these people give to charity, and don't make a big scene doing it, they put people to work in the companies, they expand and add workers, purchase durable goods, which puts others to work.
The liberals think they should tax this kind of person cause they are rich, but they worked for it, earned it and should only pay their fair share and not a penny more than anyone else. If they tax big corporations or people who own companies heavier, that will be passed to the consumer, us, the working middle class.
I say Money is a good thing if you have worked hard to earn it. You deserve it. |

It depends! If it's around a holiday like Christmas it can be good because then you'll have money to buy nice gifts for people you love! If it's in the middle of nowhere it can kind of be bad because you'll have a lot of money and you'll be more pressured to buy a lot of junk for youself which you might not need! |
