I had the same problem with them a couple of years ago. They can offer you an extension, where they move the missing payments to the end of the contract and you start off fresh. Make sure you call them right away before they do an official action. |

Let your lender know you are having difficulties as soon as possible. They appreciate being notified if things are going wrong, and will be far more agreeable in making compromises.
Don't make payments til the last day they are due, if you are really stretched. This might make it easier to budget.
You may be able to refinance your loan, if appropriate. If you are considering this, examine the fees and charges associated with doing so.
With loans, it's best to pay them off as soon as possible, so you accrue less interest. Unfortunately, life doesn't go like that sometimes. I hope things start looking up for you. |

They just want to get paid I doubt that they'll be flexible with the payments. |

Most credit companies will take 1 to 3 payments and place them at the end of your loan and just ask you to pay the interest for that month. I've done that in the past. That would allow you to keep more of your money until getting another job and also does not effect your credit report. The interest payment is your payment for that month in question. Good thinking to ask for help instead of chancing ruining your credit. |

Gosh, I wish I could help, but somehow you have to make the payments otherwise the repo people will take it away and you'll still owe the debt. You may have to sell it and pay off your note. You are on the right track about calling the company and discussing your situation. I hope things get better for you. |

Americredit is a real treat.
Yes, if you call them immediately they can do things for you...extend pmts & such
but they can be a royal pain.
You will only get 2 or 3 of those in course of loan; use wisely
Best part of loan with them was title in hand at end |

Well you can give it a shot, you dont loose anything by doing so. But these people tend to not care what your situation is, even if ur situation is obvious and indeed you are having difficulties with the payments, they wont give you a hand, and if they do, Oh they´ll charge you for it! |

They should be able to refinance you, it would drop your payments, but you'd be paying on it longer. |

You would most likely not get anywhere with them, because you took out the loan, and promised to repay it, it is not their fault you lost your job. you should maybe find another one. I guess that's probably the first thing they would tell you. it's been almost 6 months since you lost your job... unemployment will run out.
you have to make your payment or the will repo your car. it's really that simple, they don't make deals. |

They might work with you, but it would hurt your credit. As long as you are able to pay, then you should. |

If you have always been faithful and on time with your payments, I don't see why they won't work with you..unless in the paperwork that you signed it said that you are not allowed to have extensions or something like that. You'll just have to call. Remember, if you "defer" a payment, it goes to the end of your note, and you will eventually have to pay for it. |
