They aren't lending very much at all at present due to the credit crunch. Most aren't even lending if you have a good credit rating and pay off all c.cards every month and have no arrears on anything. In a few months time lenders will be begging people to take out credit cards as they won't be making profit. A few credit card companies have cancelled up to 71% of cards in peoples possession and are continuing not to renew them.So apparently GOOD customers are BAD customers for credit. This is pretty stupid as they'll never get those customers back and some lenders can't see beyond the end of their noses therefore if they continue to deny people credit then it will affect their profits. At present, if you're having financial difficulties it seems that some lenders would rather you take out an IVA or go bankcrupt rather than help people and in some cases it seems the best and cheaper option for the borrower. Rather stupid don't ya think. Just take a look at Moneysupermarket.com and read some of the posts on there - it's a real eye-opener.
If you do get a loan make sure it's a low interest rate about 6.9% to 8% any higher then your'e being ripped off. Some credit cards are as much as 39% apr and that's criminal nearly as bad as loan sharks. Personally I think the government should cap the rate at which interest can be charged.and if you only ever pay the minimum amount each month it can take up to 15 years to clear a modest balance on a credit card!
Have a nice day Elric. ;-) x |

Ha ha Elric, maybe they are giving you Your Share, go along there. Good Luck.lol. |

Not sure about that Elric - they have certainly tightened up who they lend to and those with debts already have a low chance of getting a loan. If you do then it will be at a considerable high interest rate. But, hey, what do I know you might be ok Elric! |

Just be straight about your circumstances and needs. The banks will lend right now, just with tighter terms and conditions than recently. |
