Well, Electron is the card they give to kids or people with poor credit ratings. Maestro is normally given to adults, it's the new Switch. |

Maestro all the way. As others have said, there are many places which still don't accept Electron. I think it's been getting better, and so most places do now take Electron, but I can guarantee that any place which takes card payments will accept Maestro. |

mastro, there are a number of places that don't accept Visa Electron still.... even though it's been around for ages. High street's fine- but if you're buying on the net or paying for things over the phone like flight tickets or travel insurance- some places don't have the facility to accept it through their merchant banks |

Maestro is more widely accepted that the Electron. If your visa debit card has the Visa Electron, Visa Interlink, Visa Delta, or visa plus symbol on it. It can be used at some merchants that take those cards. Some Visa Electron can work like a Visa Credit credit. The card is usually called a Visa Debit. Visa is removing the Delta name. |

maestro is deffinatly better than visa electron, yeah VISA itself is a wider known symbol however like mentioned before the electron card is for people with poorer ratings, it can still be used like a switch but not all banks offer this however all banks offer maetro if you "score" for it.
maestro is switch its the same thing can be used on the net, phone and taken and used abroad |

Maestro definitely.
Electron is basically a cash card that many places do not accept.
Maestro is quite universal and readily accepted. |

maestro is better as you can use the card virtually anywhere and it shows that you have a good credit rating with the but the electron card, you can hardly use it anywhere, and it shows that your credit rating is not that good either
The maestro card can guarantee cheques, the electron cant |

Maestro/Cirrus symbol on known cards mean they can be used almost anywhere that have the facility to accept it as well as internationally. SOLO card or VISA Electron as they are known are not as known and may be declined by Retail outlets and other companies. So Cheque Gurantee cards or Maestro are the ones you should have. (Correction, they are the only things you can have) or better still CASH. |

Maestro, no doubts about it.
I would not be able to live with myself if I had to use an Electron card. |
