Nothing, invest it and only spend the interest.
Next I would help my immediate family by paying hospital bills for all new babies.
I would assist the weakest link in my family and bring them up to par. I said assist not perpetual welfare.
Once I took care of my family, I would set priorities as to whom the needy were. I would concentrate on families of the military.
You don't have to look far to find people in need.
Once all my tasks were done, I would send you million so you could start your own charity. |

Just thinking about it makes me feel light headed. Reason being is because I now live outside the States, I moved permanently to be near my 2 children. I am so unhappy as It is so hard for me to deal with the people here. Thier mentality, the language, I am so dependent on my children. I can't stand it. I was always an independent person. I can't even read my bills when I have to pay them. So my kids do it for me. I live here already 5 years, and I am dying to go back to the states. But I don't have enough money to move back, and I don't have enough money to live on if I do move back to the states. I am a senior citizen, and live on Social Security.
I took a 40 ft. container, with all my furnishings and stuff. I am so unhappy, and depressed here. I became a different person. Just writing this is making my heart palpitate.
There is no place like the good old U.S.A.
So the first thing I would do is move (run) back. The 2nd thing I would do is get a financial advisor to help me plan my living expenses, to last till the end of my days. I am 66 years old, and disabled. It goes without saying that I would definitly give 10% of my money to charity.
Guess this is not what you wanted to hear. But my advise to you, if you are young and still working is to always put aside money from your paycheck. Even if it is only $20.00 a week. Depending on your age, you will be able to save and not have to fantasize about what you wou do if you had a million dollars. It really sucks when you have to depend on family to help you out. You lose your independence, and identity. |
