What you need is a target retirement portfolio that will split all of your savings into multiple venues. ING, Vanguard, are some savings institutions that will help you target at what you want to retire and they can circle your savings around that time. Research which company has the best plan, but this is the way to go so that your savings is not all in one place but still has security. Good luck. |

Do a Roth IRA not a traditional one and put the rest into mutual funds. With what you make taxes shouldn't be an issue |

do you work? does your company offer 401k? if so, are you contributing the full 15,500? After that it's contribution to an IRA. You basically are not eligible for ROTH IRA due to income limitations so you are limited to traditional ira and non-deductible IRA contributions.
See IRS PUB 590 and then see an accountant and a financial planner. |

why dont you just start puting a large sum of every paycheck into a high interest savings account it sounds like you have enough money to do so. after you retire you will have enough |

You need to consult a professional about your finances - either a CFP or CPA (Certified Financial Planner or Certified Public Accountant).
I'm sure you do qualify for IRA's. IF you don't, load up on mutual funds and other investments like Real Estate.
Find a job that does offer 401(k)'s. If your spouse has a job that does offer a 401(k) - max that one out. |

If you can qualify for Roths, do it. If not, consider muni bonds and "tax-managed" mutual funds. |

Income caps do not apply to a Traditional IRA. You can put up to $8,000 away for 2007 and another $10,000 for 2008. You only have a week to put away the money for 2007. |
