What's a good job for an 18 year old?

I need something for a second job or possibly one to replace my current one if it made enough. I need more money so I can be able to afford an apartment.

I do plan on going to college but I'm taking some time off first. Only a year.

Janitor and yes I know it sounds bad. But i've heard plenty of people say they worked as janitors when they were 18. The pay is better than say a restaurant so why not give it a try.

Consider joining the military reserves. The National Guard. The Army Reserves. You get great experience and your employer pretty much has to honor your tours of duty. I haven't heard of anyone being fired because they had to go off for a while to serve.

gonna have to be a waitress and dress cutely as that will get you good tips. Also, try to do online surveys, you could win something and they are fun to fill out

Any job where you make tips is great for an 18 yr old! Waitress maybe? When you're young it's also a good time to get experience in something that interests you or that you are studying.

i don't know, you can find the job in newspaper.

Maybe a good internship somewhere or something that doesnt take up alot of your time. like working at starbucks or something

Waitressing is a great second job. You can do well in a upscale place. The best way to make money though is by becoming educated. You will earn more money with a college degree. The higher the degree the higher the pay. You may not get that apartment as soon as you'd like, but you will be waaaay better off in the end than working two jobs now.

Work at a restaruant (not fast food restaurant) since you can make lots of tips serving people. One of my friends was able to make $100 in one day as a waitress.

In this respect, it is important to distinguish independent contractors from employees, since the two are treated differently both in law and in most taxation systems. Employers generally do not pay or withhold payroll taxes on payments to independent contractors.

Many companies further classify employees as exempt or non-exempt. This designation is used to separate employees that are eligible for overtime from those that are not. Organizing

Employees can organize into trade unions or labor unions, who represent most of the available work force in a single organization. They utilize their representative power to collectively bargain with the management of companies in order to advance concerns and demands of their membership.
